Noticed all the new different looking power boxes alongside the T2T, anyone know if they are strictly for the new roadway or surrounding houses?

Saw it the news last night. Looks impressive, and there’s 6 more bridges to be put in place.

DPTI have released a timelapse of the bridge move:

The next bridge move is just 2 weeks away, with the Ayliffes Road bridge moving on 7-9 September.

There will also be several road shifts happening over the next few weeks. Looks like it's peak time on the project.

Surely Pym St can’t remain as an intersection/bottle-neck after the hundreds of millions spent on this section. I thought it was going to be left hand turn only and no lights? It could then continue the extra 1-2kms to Regency Rd with no stops.

Pym Street traffic still needs to cross South Road. Right turns from South Road have been removed, however.

Pym Street will be left-in, left-out only when the Pym Street to Regency Road project is underway.

Looks like they forgot that you can't turn right on Port Road from South Road

I'm sure you will - in the legend the blue line is showing how to get from the expressway to the city via Port Road, so it doesn't show a right hand turn.
cheers,

I think he meant the right turn in orange from the northbound surface road on to Port Road city-bound. That won't be possible - you'd need to turn left on to Port Road and use the U-turn facility.

What a short-sighted joke that is!
Should be a similar setup to Hawker St - continue the trench to just past Pym St with an overpass allowing turns over South Road

It is possible this will come out as an option in the detailed design. Several things have been added at detailed design on other parts of the corridor work. There is to be a pedestrian and bike crossing there anyway (which might be due to sewerage or electricity requirements as well) so expanding to a road bridge is not inconceivable if traffic journey analysis determines it is required.

I’m no expert on the traffic flows of Pym St but don’t understand why the traffic from this side street (rather than attempting to cross South Rd) can’t be directed to Torrens Rd or Regency Rd? Ridiculous to have traffic lights stopping traffic so near the start/exit of the underpass/ freeway.
I agree with Pistol, the trench should continue the extra 200m if crossing there is such a big deal.
