so it's two lanes in each direction on the western side of the lowered motorway?
Correct. Two lanes in each direction on what I assume will become the north bound lanes except north of the mimosa terrace bridge it appears to swing across to the southbound side.

Correct. It was meant to be four lanes heading south but due to the wall error, this was the next best option.

Peek hour tomorrow will be interesting.

Swing across to the south bound side as they haven’t completed the lower section.

The northbound side still needs to be dug out and connected with the city bound - Goodwood Rd bridge.

They have moved traffic over to 2 lanes down from 4 only on the upper deck to start work on that section.

if heading north and u want south road don't bother going into the trench near maccas as you're forced onto ayliffes road which is pointless

if you're heading south the trench is only for the southern expressway, south rd users no change.

Why are many wall sections of this trench down south slanted, while the T2T trench walls aren't?
Is there going to be any uniformity in this motorway besides the overhead signs and white painted lines?

I’m loving how they have dug holes in the T2T already!!
Making all traffic slow to 60 because the far left lane in each direction has a plate over the hole... really‽

From those pictures, T2T really is the poverty stricken section. Are those poles at Grange, Port and Torrens actually finished? Is that honestly the best they could do?

It's just a road. While urban design treatment for T2T is underwhelming, I'm quite happy that taxpayer dollars are going towards other matters of the project, such as safety.

Drove through Darlington today. I think the slanted walls, despite not being uniform, are better than the T2T's straight walls. Driving through, T2T feels very boxy and imposing but the slanted walls at Darlington make the trench feel more open. It sounds quite wizard, but it makes sense.

Speaking of uniformity, I like how the walls replicate the diagonal lines pattern from the Gallipoli Underpass. The tunnel portals in concept art for the NSM tunnel also use this pattern, T2T seems to be the odd one out here.

I imagine the decision on the slant of the walls would mostly depend on the available space. Unless it's required for engineering reasons it's certainly not worth the extra acquisition costs to have slanted walls.

You do not want 50km of road to look the same.
It would be boring and makes it difficult to get a bearing of where you are.

Every section should feel unique.
It will keep drivers more alert and make for less people missing their turn off.

Maybe they had a few leftover trees from the remediation works.

The lowered motorway could use a bit of colour.

At least it won't be as bad as a Stobie when you hit it.

Aren't the overhead signs how you get a bearing of where you are? Besides in this day and age most modern cars have inbuilt GPS or aftermarket units, and everyone has a mobile with google/apple maps.

NEXY, SEXY, PREXY, SE Freeway...there is uniformity on all of them.
