The intersection was fully open for traffic on time. Thus, the usual suspects in the news media will be unable to deliver the flogging they were hoping to inflict.

The overhead is still incomplete: lacking two curves some crossing pans and fittings. However, that could be done very quickly with a late night traffic restriction of limited scope.

Due to the intersection not being ready at 600am this morning, the opening was delayed until 700am.

Only by an hour. That’s nothing compared to say a six hour delay.

Bet you every news report on the intersection is opened with it being delayed by an hour

I don't want to sound too picky about aesthetics but I sure as hell hope that they resurface the roadways surrounding this project and they fix the guttering that has basically disappeared into the bitumen as a result of raising the road surface...

I hope so as well, it looks very average at the moment. They will probably do it once the Tour Down Under is over.

The trams will be using the new lines in late March.
For starters, my avatar is the well-known Adelaide Aquatic Centre insignia from 1989.

Hopefully the trams will be using the Festival Theatre Tram Stop before the first AFL footy game at Adelaide Oval for the year.

The Caretaker Period starts on the 17th of February. I imagine the start date for the new service will be determined and announced before then.

Then, again, my guess would be that the trams will start running before the election. Purely a guess.

If the government has any intention of continuing the tram network, it might use the start of operation to the East End as an occasion for an announcement. Again, a guess.

Just on this, if ProspectLINK goes ahead in the future, will they build a stop right out the front of Adelaide Oval? Even if it's just used on event days, I think it would be a good idea.
