As posted over at SSC...

Mawson Lakes Interchange will be opened on the 26th of February. It will receive trains about once every 8-10 minutes during peak hours, and once every 15 minutes interpeak as seen in the new timetable for the Gawler line.

That's looking good now! It's good to see development like these on our p/transport network.

Thanks for the photos AG!

I was seriously unnaware of the scope of this project, it appears much larger than what I had in mind. This is an excellent addition to the state's public transport infraestructure and I would hope to see more quality public transport projects in the future.

This look fantastic - be great if we can have similar interchanges in other major areas, and get people using public transport again.

Mawson Lakes Interchange is now open. There's still a bit of works that need to be completed though.

How far away is the station from the bulk residential area? Looks a bit remote..

The residential areas on the eastern side of the station are under construction. The main street is only about 200-300m away from the station. Within a few years the station will be completely surrounded on both the western and eastern side by homes.

A government funded bus-rail interchange that opened recently without much notice:

Those are great shots AG... sure right about no fanfare around this interchange. I haven't heard a whisper about it.

Seconds until it's covered top-to-bottom in graffitt?

My train on the way to uni this morning stopped at it, to the excitment/confusion/ignorance of other passengers.

Looks great - lots of cover from the weather - nice and clean. Hope all you living in Mawson Lakes use it well.

From what I've seen, Mawson Interchange already gets a fair number of train pax. I was on the 5.15 to G/Central, a packed out two-car set and about 30-40 people got off at Mawson lake. I could only see a handful of cars in the car park. Also from what I saw from the train, Rail Real-Time was switched on.

Yeah it is interesting Atd in regards to no. of passengers. Were they mostly Uni Students or a mix? I suppose at that time it would have been a fair few workers? If so that is a good sign because obviously Uni Students would use the trains but to see residents also using it is a good sign considering it has only just opened. I always remember looking over the baron landscape that once existed there from the Uni and thinking why can't they put in a station with bus links to the Mawson Lakes area. It is great that the Government finally acted on it.

I hope the Government creates more of these stations! I mean look how welcoming that station is even at night. The lighting is excellent.

I would say they're people who worked in the CBD. The train was mostly suits and people with ID tags on and such. It's always like that in any train that leaves around 5.
