No tall ships through port
Article from: The Advertiser

A SECTION of the Port River will be closed to tall vessels from today until February for work on the $178 million Port River Expressway linking the state's port and rail terminals.
Over-height vessels will be unable to sail through the section adjacent to the Expressway construction site.
Transport Minister Patrick Conlon said the closure was expected to be in place until February, allowing the final stages of work before its scheduled opening in April next year.
Once the river is closed the final rail bridge span will be lifted into place, followed by the remaining road bridge spans, to take the Port River Expressway and Outer Harbor rail link across the river.

Part of the road bridge bascule span has been installed in the last day or so, while I wasn't there. HMAS Adelaide was visible in Dock 2 (near the cranes) and is open for inspection on Sunday.

I saw a partial test opening of the rail bascule span on tv a few days ago; the full opening was deferred because of the weather, but I'd like to see it if anyone knows when the full test will be.

They now re-aligned Victoria Road along the new road section from the Birkenhead Bridge. Right now it's very confusing and the sooner the full stretch of road opens the better. Right now it's a complete mess.
