naivete... well, yes. But not the sophistication of deliberate naivete. It really is just clunky, especially those curly things, and the attempted suggestion of sophistication and luxury in the cursive reverse 'coffee'. I'd like to know the story of the product and the package. Was it a new product for which they saw no great potential, and so flicked the packaging job to the work experience student, then were startled to see the sales figures rolling through?

And why has the 600ml iced coffee become a tradies' staple? It would please the marketing department if it were the result of a clever campaign, but I think the consumption on building sites came first, followed by the advertising.

And why is the 600ml cardboard pack acceptable on a building site but not the 750ml plastic pack? If I were, say, in all respects a reputable looking builder's laborer, what would it do to my standing on the site to drink Max Strawberry Shake instead of FUIC? Could I undo the damage?

There must be a PhD in this, complerte with sponsor.

There is some products out there that have a fresh modern appearance but taste absolutely dismal (cough, Big M) or just fades in with all the other products due to it's carbon copy design. FUIC on the other-hand is easily recognizable thanks to it's famous classic branding and it tastes so GOOD!

It's not perfect, but it sells over 27 million litres of iced coffee each year across the country making it the best selling flavoured milk product in Australia. It also outsells Coca Cola here in SA and is now available in some fast food restaurants, eg Maccas... So they must be doing something right!, as the saying goes 'if it ain't broken then don't fix it'.

FUIC, back in 2007 or so they took out the "iced confection" whatever the heck that is (though they used to say the same things of milky iceblocks that weren't icecream). It doesn't taste quite as good these days. Still one of the best coffee flavoured milk products on the market. Owned by the Japanese these days.

Dare Iced Coffees back in Adelaide

Apparently not sold in Victoria!

Any idea what the Vics have against good flavoured milk?

I remember once trying to buy a Classic Chocolate from the vending machine at Adelaide station and getting a Big M instead. I felt a bit disappointed and ripped off, but above all relieved that I hadn't selected strawberry! Victorian strawberry milk is truly foul.

'if it ain't broken then don't fix it'.

My point exactly. I suggest that is the attitiude of the marketing department responsible for the product too.
