Off topic again but Tapleys hill road is now 60 - due to a "community event" - Cavalia

Stop getting off topic.

At last! The new dual roundabout solution for the Britannia Roundabout is open to traffic (for testing, minor adjustments prior to final completion).

Motorists road test new dual Britannia Roundabout. (ABC891)

There's been good support, positive comments on Twitter for the first test of the dual Britannia Roundabout as it nears completion.

Early days yet but here's a few of the comments ...
'Thumbs up', 'Running smoothly', 'Huge improvement', 'So far, so good'.
Yet to see a negative one!

As a solution to peak period congestion at a roundabout near Perth, the solution to be adopted is roundabout metering.

Another uses four sets of two-phase signals on a large roundabout near Bunbury.

Curbing machine working on slip lanes. Roundabout by tomorrow? Maybe not tonight.

Major closure today, as the gantry signs were being installed. Only one lane each way, on the southern side of the new roundabouts.

Coming down Dequetteville Terrace, my only option was to exit onto Fullarton Road (south), and it appeared the same for Kensington Road traffic.

Missed a chance for the first, larger sign, but here's the gantry above the 4-way roundabout being installed.

With 3 lanes, it definitely is.

I was worth a mate on Friday, she's a learner driver, and we got to the round about I hadn't seen it yet and she had never seen the old either so had no idea what to expect. Safe to say it was a little scary for a first time! Would have been alright if I'd at least seen it to know where to guide her..
Looking forward to a free-flowing Adelaide!

Work on second roundabout continuing tonight. They seem to be using a timber stencil to place metal pins into bitumen. Probably in preparation for removable sections to allow for clipsal.

if I come along Dequettivlle Tce or Wakefield Road on my push bike and want to continue along to Fullarton Road south I have to ride in the middle lane of the three with cars still making a last minute dash to Kensington Rd going east. See pictures above. This is very scary stuff (just close your eyes and keep peddling...) The third lane just appears then disappears only around part of the larger round about..

If I was riding a bike I would try to avoid it ...maybe just turn off a street before even if it takes longer it would be safer ....

I used to bicycle through the old one every day. I will probably avoid it once it's returned to 60kp/h thiu
