Is this one at council level due to the development cost? Across the square there are 2 relatively bulkier buildings built many many years ago

refurbishment for 74 Pirie Street

on a side note.

When is the owner of the former Planet site going to pull their finger out. its been vacant for over 10 years and they could have opened it up to short term leases or pop up businesses. It's a massive site and subsequently a massive blight on the street.

There's a Development Plan Amendment up for discussion on the Council's Yoursay site covering a large area of North Adelaide. http://yoursay.adelaidecitycouncil.com/ ... elaide-DPA
It covers a number of the large institutions including Helping Hand Aged Care, Calvary, Women's and Children's & Memorial hospitals as well as a number of the colleges and the Lutheran Church head office.
It appears to support raising height limits for quite a number of these blocks while trying to ensure protection of the heritage elements.

Casts a bit of a doubt on that development. How are they making money to survive. Two empty buildings with holding and maintenance costs..m sounds like they are just hoping the value of the properties goes up and will sell... One day.

Couldn't find a thread for South60 on South Terrace, but demolition has been underway on an existing house there for the past couple of days. I know this because it's barely a stones throw from where I live. It will comprise 27 apartments over about 6 levels.

I've taken a few photos but couldn't seem to be able to post them.

A picture of the Surflen St site .Today plumbing was been installed. This is an odd shaped site as it is fitted behind and around some existing buildings. Perhaps this project could have a separate tittle?

this is A better view of the site; it continues around behind the red brick building. Piling has been done and the plumbing is going ahead.

Construction of something has started at 57 South Tce (between West Tce and Morphett St). I seem to recall some 6 story apartments?
