Boy oh boy wowweeeee. What a fancy sign.

Can't wait till this is visible from the mall. I'm guessing a core rise roughly every 6 days.

They were hoping to be by level 6 or something by mid year weren't they?
I guess they could just build the core up to level 6 and say we made it!

Is that the only sign they're putting on the core?

I've never understood how core rises actually work, so perhaps someone can explain... How does the corrugated iron box at the top lift itself every time the concrete has been poured on a new level? Because often I see cores rise but they don't remove the box it just rises...

The core walls at each level are designed with "jacking pockets" built into the inside of the core. These are points from which the jump form box is lifted to the next rise. During a jumpform lift, these are the only points where the jumpform is physically touching the building - the shutter forms are all pulled back from the core walls during this operation. These pockets are then grout filled or left as is once the jumpform is at the next level.Patrick_27 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 09, 2018 1:22 amI've never understood how core rises actually work, so perhaps someone can explain... Tried to go back and find the lodgement plans and floor diagrams but couldn't - do they have further digging out to do on those diagonally sloped edges?
