I just worry that I looks too yellow and isn’t very reflective? Reminds me of the yellow on a child’s playground that’s been in our sun for few summers.

I think it’s safe to say this will be stunning. Anyone know if you can find the penthouse floor plans somewhere? I’d love to have a look.

Aren’t the tower panels supposed to be more stunning than the podium panels?

What do you mean by ‘more stunning’?

Well the panels are suppose to be golden and perforated, right? So what I’m asking is do those panels that are going up on the podium, continue right to the top of the building or do they change in appearance (in a more stunning/striking way) once they reach the first floor of the tower

Agree. The panels are neither "golden" or stunning. More like a faded yellow as previously noted. Interesting effect yes, but as usual nowhere near what the renders promised. So far, despite his building being a bit more interesting than most is is a bit underwhelming.

Have you seen the panels in person? I have, and in the morning light when I saw them, they did have a golden hue. How they look with the proposed highly reflective shadow chrome glazing will ultimately determine the end result.claybro wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 1:37 pmAgree. We haven't even hit the full articulation of the floor plates yet, the tapering effect should be quite striking and give some well overdue shape relief to the skyline.

I might have to go for a walk by this way before casting judgement I think. The photo on the previous page looked like a translucent gold, the one just posted above looks like the faded yellow

I believe that the actual effect of gold colour cannot be represented in the RGB colour space of computers, web pages and televisions. Wikipedia has a wide range of colours called "<something> gold" at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gold_(color)shiftaling wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 2:48 pmI might have to go for a walk by this way before casting judgement I think. We've all noticed that building colours in photos appear to change depending on the lighting. Most of us also know that the artists impressions of future buildings always choose to imagine the perfect lighting that might only occur once every few years for a few minutes.

My how things change, 1911, Chalmers Church, now Scotts Church. At the back of the cottage row are the back yards that exit on to Austin Street. Immediately to the left of the shop front called H. L. VOSZ is a shed which becomes the Richmond Hotel and the building to the left of that between the shed and spire is a building called Kuhnels who were piano importers. The back of that building is now the entrance into the Renaissance Arcade. That road leading to the back of the Kuhnels from North Tce was called Elder Road but at some stage it all became Austin Street.
John Martins can also be seen. Ruthven Mansions weren't completed until about 1914/15.
Note the Trams ha haaa
