There's also the Rymill Place proposal at East & Hutt that I'd sooner buy into (once it gets to marketing) if I wanted to live in the area.Bob wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 2:59 pmThe building to be completed during November and the Purchaser final settlements are planned to commence during December.
Due to the extended north south design length of the building, nearly all apartments have their main view either east or west. However some recent changes in the surrounding environment may affect some views once developed.
A preliminary concept for the corner of Hutt & Pirie (SW corner) was planned for a 7 level proposal, I since found out the owner is now planning a 12 to 15 level new build there instead, small footprint but will still be partially in the east view frame.
The owner of the Red Cross building immediately next door (east) is planning to add multiple levels behind the facade for new offices, if this goes ahead some lower east facing apartments will lose their view.
The new owner of the old Salvos People Palace (due west) is planning some sort of commercial building upgrade but don’t know if this involves refitting in the current shell or adding levels behind. This may affect some west views.
In between East End project and the Salvos is a sliver of land that is worth more to the owner than the current rental return for the simple low-rise building being used as an adult entertainment centre (one level removed from being a knocking shop). The micro hotel site at Budget gives food for thought for owners of similar blocks in key areas.
Any redevelopment immediately east or west of this project will put at risk some of the apartments uninterrupted views that will be enjoyed on day one.
Best not to pay a premium for an apartment with a view that can be potentially built out.

After taking forever and a day to get the podium done, the rest of it seems to have gone up in a flash

Hard to tell, what's the glass finish like on this?
Despite all the boarding up and plastic, this looks pretty decent from that angle. Cautiously optimistic.

What’s the finish like on this one? Have yet to see a pic with glazing that I like but yet to see an image with out the boarded up windows.

The Crane didn't come down on the weekend as planned. I think this one is a fair bit behind. I think settlements would be in late Jan/Feb not November/December.

IMO this sucks big time. Kinda thought this location being near the east end might have been a bit higher quality

Reminds me more of the Gray Street student accommodation, which is worse.noted wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 9:50 amAgreed. it reminds me a little bit of Bohem, which is definitely not a compliment.thecityguy wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2019 9:33 amIMO this sucks big time.
