News & Developments: Inner East & Greenhill Road

#1 Post by SRW » Thu Oct 15, 2020 2:36 pm

Creating a new thread for Kent Town, Norwood etc as there's an increasing number of low-rise residential coming through that don't really warrant their own threads but otherwise go missing. Mods, feel free to rename or consolidate elsewhere if you have other ideas.

One such development caught me by surprise the other day. Six story mixed use 99 King William Street, Kent Town:

News and Development: Norwood & Kent Town

#3 Post by dbl96 » Sun Mar 03, 2024 12:32 am

Thought I would start a general thread for development in Norwood & Kent Town - its becoming an important area for infill, but the developments are scattered over a number of threads, despite most of them not being of a scale to warrant their own threads.

The Osmond apartment project at 82 Osmond Tce Norwood has been mentioned on this forum previously. The apartments are now for sale: https://www.realestate.com.au/project/t ... -600040256

The marketers are claiming "50% Sold, Construction to begin imminently"

I started an inner east thread for the same reason some time ago but it never took off. Perhaps the mods could merge and pin the thread.

Merged and re-titled. This thread is for smaller developments only, the larger developments may still warrant their own thread.

Sarah Construction has been awarded the tender for the Osmond in Norwood.

Sarah Group/ The Hungarian Club - Residential/ Commercial - $34M
Sarah Constructions are commencing works on The Osmond, a six-storey luxury apartment complex with a new restaurant and function space for the Hungarian Club on ground level, to be built on the original site of the Hungarian Club at Osmond Terrace, Norwood.

The works will include the demolition of the existing Hungarian Club, and a full redevelopment of the site with the construction of a basement carpark, ground floor restaurant and function centre and 23 luxury apartments -including two Penthouses offering 360sqm of living space, with three bedrooms, multiple living spaces, kitchen with butler’s pantry, cellar and bar.

Designed by ACG Studio, the building will have rooftop solar panels and provisions for electric vehicle charging stations within the underground car park. The design ensures a clear distinction between the ground level podium, the upper-level apartments, and the penthouse level, achieved through strategic setbacks and variations in materiality and colour. The revamped Hungarian Club of SA community facility is a standout feature on the ground level, designed to ensure it will remain a vibrant part of Norwood’s social scene.

Adrian Esplin, Sarah Constructions CEO, said the project would “set a new precedent when it comes to luxury, location and lifestyle, drawing on abundant light, space, functionality and sustainability The Osmond, in all its elegance, will sit perfectly within this vibrant precinct”.

The Apartments are available for sale now through Ouwens Casserly.

Construction commencing soon.
