Even though it's old news, I can't find any mention of it on this site and figured it was worth its own thread.

Residential development by Urban Construct on the old Hotel-Adelaide site.

I'm assuming that this...

...is an old render?

They look similar enough for the differences to be put down to night and day renders, but I think they're actually different designs.

Pants, you are correct, they are different designs. Urban Construct made some amendments to their initial design. These amendments included a slightly different facade, but they also managed to increase the buildings height to 33.15m (almost a high-rise!) The ACC gave the green light to the amendments.

This one should maybe go to under construction now as demolition works are well underway with heaps of workers on-site. Drove past doay and signifcant traffic restrictions were also occurring around the building.

This job, probably not. Old Advertiser Building, probably, unless they decide to implode it which is extremely unlikely.

The old Hotel Adelaide International is not going to be demolished, it is receiving an extreme makeover, that will leave the structural skeleton intact.

Checked it out today, no tower crane, three mobiles on site though. All though from a distance there looks to be a white crane base on top of the building, It might only be a section of LMR dismantled.

Meh.
Walking on over....

North Adelaide could really benefit from having many medium density buildings like this one.

North Adelaide could do with alot of upgrading. For such a grand suburb it tends to look tired and outdated. With so much development in the city I hope North Adelaide follows suit.

I've updated the render in the first post. It look like it's the same as it's always been.

The other shot doing the rounds must be the northern facade.

Just in case someone is interested:

The old Hotel Adelaide International was built in 1960, and it was Adelaide's first 'international' standard hotel. As a result there were some calls to have it heritage listed when the council first received the re-development plans by Urban Construct.

The building is 10 level, and it reaches a structural height of 35.3m.
