[COM] Re: #Approved: Wave (11-19 Gilles St) - 12 lvls
When was this project set to start originally? (Now modified). Any news as to when things will resume again.
these bldgs really complement residential needs for workers in the 2 nearby office towers under way.

Although both projects share a common podium, they are in essence independent buildings, which will be developed at different times, hence the need for two individual threads.metalMONSTER wrote:This project will form part of the 'EDGE' project, with a common podium. It may be worth merging the threads.
HY look like they are the builders for this project.

Fencing has gone up around site for commencement of demolition.
[COM] Re: #Approved: Wave (11-19 Gilles St) - 12 lvls
The developers have lodged an application to make some adjustements to the tower. In essence the changes will involve:
The changes have been categorised as Category 2, and are currently on public notofication.Vary previous authorisation (DA/933/2006) to demolish existing building and construct 12 level office/residential building with ground floor retail tenancy, car parking on levels 1 to 3, offices on levels 4 to 6 and 8 apartments on levels 7 to 12 - Change levels 7 and 8 from apartments to office use, install external horizontal louvre screens from levels 5 to 8, replacement of single apartment on level 9 with two apartments and construction of an additional lift.

Glad to see that the sub standard, almost urban blighted astructures will be removed off KWS for the edge. IMO one of the most outdated and ugly designs I have seen.

I think it looks quite good. I wonder how much better it'd look if they supplied a glossy CG render with absurdly distorted perspective?

[quote="Will"]Some new perspectives: Thanks to JPE Architects:
Maybe I am imagining things, but the above drawing makes it appear that the "wave" faces south east, and the whole building is not actually on the corner of KWS and Gilles Street, but directly across the road from the carpark on Gilles Street. Is this the case?
Are we therefore looking at another blank wall to the west side facing a possible future building on the corner of KWS?
Otherwise love the wave design. Be interesting to see if there are any complaints from the townhouses on Symonds Place that this looks over.

The building is on a podium, set back from the property boundry, thus a blank wall is not required. There's renders of the first design's western face on the first page of this thread.

Good. That's what I had originally basically gathered from the image:AtD wrote:The building is on a podium, set back from the property boundry, thus a blank wall is not required. There's renders of the first design's western face on the first page of this thread.
It's just in the new images it looked set back even further from KWS.

Wave will be built behind the current City Zen chinese restaurant on the corner of KWS and Gilles St.mgb wrote:It's just in the new images it looked set back even further from KWS.
