I registered with them early last week after their site was offline a couple of weeks earlier. Also only got my confirmation e-mail today. Their homepage was up but couldn't get any further when trying to go through with the login process. This was around lunchtime today. Hope things are sorted out, it's a very interesting forum.
Cheers

It's dead again, it's ridiculous. I'm sure i'm not the only one that's frustrated. At least this forum is reliable.

Shout out to the rock-solid hosting for SA. SSC is a joke.

That is true but the last month has been fairly quiet. Not a lot of news to report.

Well there is really no point posting on the South Australian forum at SSC. This forum is the premier and the vanguard forum for SA. SSC is now a forum where information from this site is recycled, and with my busy uni and personnal life I do not have time to post the same thing on two sites.
I also used to visit the Latin American forum on SSC, but to avoid conflicts they banned political discussion so now it is bland and everyone posts the same posts over an over again. For example if someone makes a new thread, you will have 30 to 40 posts pretty much saying the following:
*#*#*#This is the best thread in the world, you are the best photographer I have ever seen, these are the best photos in the universe. I congratulate you and (insert city name) is the best and most beautiful city in the world.*#*#*#*#

They were running 32bit software on a 64bit processor, with 4GB of dedicated RAM but the database could only see and use 512MB. Jan's hired a professional to deal with it.
The two servers now are:
www1.skyscrapercity.com
www2.skyscrapercity.com
When you go to just www, it 'randomly' gives you one of the two.

There's a weird problem now occurring on the server. You can post as many new posts as you want, but you can only access anything that was posted before about 1pm (ACST), any posted after that is not showing up.
