Thanks for the update Ben. I am actually looking forward to this development now, as I have regressed my mentallity to that I had back in the 90's and early 00's. Any crane is a good crane.

And with the GFC, it is safe to say that the current construction cycle has come to a halt. Furthermroe it is also safe to say that in the next 2-3 years the only office developments that will take off, will be those that are almost 100% pre-commited, which suggests that we will only see this, the new origin energy building and the new Adelaide Bank building.

New SA Police Headquarters
The Buildings Group is providing structural and civil engineering services for South Australia's new state-of-the-art police headquarters. This $100 million 10-storey building will accommodate more than 1000 staff and be the biggest police building in the state's history. This is another project where KBR was commissioned by a long-term repeat client, in this case Commercial and General Corporation.

The modern green five-star design will include meeting spaces and a café on the ground floor as well as access to an underground car park. Anti-terrorism measures to mitigate against blast and progressive collapse are some of the features beyond the requirements of the Building Code of Australia that will present challenges in delivering the project. The State Government will lease the building and spend $38 million on its fit-out.

I happened to drive past this last night, and was amazed at how dark that part of Angas Street is! It could sure do with this building shedding some light on to the street.
