From Saturday, I was more interested in the tram line work:

The bottom half is a little bland, in a "corporate conservative" kind of way, but I love how the top half almost floats in the air, like the black monolith from 2001. (edit: Referencing Kubrick Movie) On the whole I agree with Shuz, I like it.

I prefer it to "Edge", which is visible further down the road. There's something about brown and white apartment blocks that says "communism", "welfare", "the projects" to me. No20 Hindmarsh Square also has this effect I'm afraid.

Thanks Xara. I like it in that it provides cover for pedestrians - the awning breaks the 'wall' appearance of so many bldgs. Does not remind of commie styles but of large department stores. Impressed. Good mix of the modern and the more conservative lower 4 levels.

Have been off the site for 3 wks - what is happening with the tramline - hopefully upgrading the stop in the area.

BTW - signage will remove much of the possible blandness in the lower levels.

You reckon? With respect to the architects, but Villa Savoye it's not. But I've said more than I meant to already.

LOL stop referencing Le Corbusier. The man should have stuck to furniture. (not serious ;) )

Some photos taken today (Sunday 13th Dec ~6pm) - very similar to what has been posted recently as not much seems to be happening externally. I have to say this one is much more impressive in the flesh, to my eyes at least.

It really needs the right angle, doesn't it? Seen on an angle with the glass shimmering nicely is all well and good, but from some angles it's as if the AON Centre was trucked down to KWS.

We're all thinking it - this building is a bit of a letdown from the renders. It's still great - but not ideal.

Overall I like it muchly. Far better than the previous bldg and/or an open 'pit' that we could have had. Indeed, Like Omi said, it does need the right angle to enhance the full potential of the bldg aethetically. Nice addition to KWS Sth.

I actually think phenom's 7th (last) photo does look like the renders. I like this building.
