I had a mate over from Perth a couple of weeks ago and he made the comment "Gee you have a lot of big heavy buildings over here don't you?" I haven't been to Perth for about 18 years but I guess their skyline has more glass and steel and less concrete?
cheers,

Nah, cant and wont happen. besides it would look supid in adelaide, the next tallest building is santos house which is what just under 100m tall, 750m, is a bit to big for our city or nearly any australian city actually, altough i would like to see development in adelaide probably around the 40-50 story mark would be good, it would add a bit of a difference to the city.

Let's try to get our facts accurate here, it's 135m tall.

Cheers

wow, i underestimated it's height. but still it would look pretty ridiculous, it would be three times the size of the port pirie smeleters stack, which is 250m tall, and when i have travelled up north you can see the stack about 60kms away, usually at mambray creek outside Pt Augusta, currently the tallest building in the world is the taipei towers which is 508m tall.

#Aprils Fools: 158m Adelaide Tower

#29 Post by Howie » Tue Apr 01, 2008 12:08 am

We have been contacted by a Sydney-based development group who are putting together a proposal for this 158m office development in the CBD.

Sensational-Adelaide will be speaking with the developers sometime during mid-day for confirmation of the elevation, height and details of this development.

Sorry this is my attempt of humour, April 1st being the only day in the year we can take the p*ss, the urge was too strong to resist.

<wiping drool off keyboard>

Utterly superb! In a fantastic location, too -- on the eastern side of KWS, which would help to 'balance' the skyline.

Howie, tell us more!!! :D
It's = it is; its = everything else.
You're = you are; your = belongs to.
Than = comparative ("bigger than"); then = next.
