Work on new police HQ begins

CONSTRUCTION work on the new $100m Angas St Police Headquarters has started.
Site works and preliminary construction is underway for the headquarters that is schedule for completion by the end of 2011.
The five-star energy rated building will house more than 1000 staff on its nine floors as a hub for branches including Firearms, Records, Prosecutors, Anti Corruption and Sexual Crimes Investigation.
It follows a $6.5m upgrade to Christies Beach complex, $8m towards the construction of a Roxby Downs facility and $9.5m for a new station at Murray Bridge.
