Elizabeth Field became Davoren Park, I believe the reason was that it was outside the City of Elizabeth, in Munno Para Council, which felt that it needed to be differentiated - of course now it's all part of the City of Playford.
Challa Gardens was around Blair Athol - the Challa Gardens Hotel is still there I think.
Knightsbridge was along Glynburn Road somewhere, IIRC. There is a street and a park with that name along there, around Hazelwood Park.
Kircaldy was between Henley Beach and Grange - the western end of Grange Road was still called Kircaldy Road when I was a kid.
The southern part of Aberfoyle Park used to be called Chandlers Hill.
Paralowie used to be part of Salisbury North until someone thought that the new housing estate would be stigmatised with that name, and Paralowie sounded so much nicer.
Parts of Hallet Cove were almost called Karara, but residents voted to retain the name Hallet Cove. My work was involved with doorknocking that one.
Pasadena used to be called Centennial Park, IIRC. The local Scout Group was still the Centennial Park Sea Scouts when I was growing up.
The suburb of Colonel Light Gardens used to be it's own little council, and still splits Daw Park in two.
Huntfield Heights used to be part of Hackham West.
Old Noarlunga was just Noarlunga when I was a kid, and West Lakes was part of Tennyson.
Seaford Meadows and Seaford Rise were part of Moana.
