Not to mention that the facade was the least of the problems. They haven't even touched the mess that is the escalator layout.

Uniqlo posted on Insta that Marion will open May 16, which may have meant that their City store kids section is now removed? Comment below:

Kim Wang's supermarket closing down due to a hike in rents at the Market Plaza. This was inevitable given the type of development going on next door, its going to drive a lot of the independent retailers out.
Also Pure Vegetarian in the Market Plaza is closing down in June.

Devastated about Pure Vegetarian, one of the better places to eat in that food court.

Not sure what the operators of Market Plaza feel they have that's worth the rent hike? The food court is only a third occupied with empty shopfronts and the overall state of the centre is filthy (and not in an aesthetic way like the Central Market Arcade was). I suspect that these rent hikes were the reason for Goodies and Grain jumping ship this month after 30 years of trading.

I suspect they are anticipating higher rent paying franchise clientele due to the swanky development next door bringing a different kind of customer into the precinct

Daiso is opening in the former Priceline in gawler place. Not sure if the MYER centre one is closing but wouldn’t think they need two so close.

Whilst walking down Rundle Mall these old canopy signs have popped up. A bit of a look into the past.

COLC (Cost Of Living Crisis) kills another veteran; The North Adelaide Burger Bar.

Here's the announcement:

"**A Heartfelt Farewell from North Adelaide Burger Bar**
Dear Valued Customers,
With heavy hearts, we announce that North Adelaide Burger Bar will be closing its doors for the final time this Sunday. After 73 wonderful years serving our community, we will not be renewing our lease and will cease operations as of Monday.
Established in 1951, North Adelaide Burger Bar has been an iconic part of South Australia's history for generations. Long before late-night food stores became a common sight in Adelaide, we were here, providing delicious meals and unforgettable memories. The legacy of our red and white establishment is built on the hard work, sacrifice, sweat, tears, joy, fun, and relationships of the many families who have had the honor to run this business, including our own since 2005.
Unfortunately, the current financial climate, rising costs of running the business, and increased utility expenses have made it impossible for us to continue. Despite our best efforts, we have made the difficult decision to close this chapter in the storied history of North Adelaide Burger Bar.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our customers who have been part of the North Adelaide Burger Bar "family." Your support and patronage over the years have meant the world to us, and we will forever cherish the great times and memories we've shared.
A special and heartfelt thank you goes out to all the amazing staff members who have worked with us over the years. Your dedication, hard work, and passion have been the backbone of our business, and we are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you.
If you want to experience our great food one last time, please come in before Monday. The original AB meal, invented here in Australia, will be lost with our closure, which is a true tragedy.
Thank you for being a part of our journey.
With heartfelt thanks,
The North Adelaide Burger Bar Team"
