Nice site.
Apologies for just listing the links. Here is the rest of the info I did not have time to include in the previous message.
Image: Current Control Tower
Here is some info about the 3rd tower (current) located just NW of the intersection of rwy 05-23 and rwy 12-30.
*Built in 1981 as a "temporary tower"
*Stands 21 metres in height
*Replaced the previous tower on the old domestic terminal (as seen below)
Image: Tower 2 1957-1981
The DTB (Domestic Terminal Building) was demolished 2010-2011
The new tower is located just to the south of the old Domestic Terminal in the long term car park.. It does not occupy any of the same footprint of the old DTB.

Oddly enough, the new tower being constructed is not far from the location of the original tower from 1955 which was just to the south where the current Gate J and security office is located.

Controlled Airspace
Also, someone asked the question as to what areas Adelaide Tower and Adelaide ATC control...
Adelaide ATC controls the airspace out to 38 nautical miles from Adelaide Airport (Radar) and from memory (but don't quote me on it) above 4000FT directly above the field. After that traffic is handed off to (usually) Melbourne Centre or Brisbane.
Adelaide Tower is responsible for about 5-10 nautical miles (Visual) from the field. Adelaide Ground also operates from the tower to control all ground movements. This includes vehicles, personnel and aircraft that may enter aircraft traffic areas.
As per my earlier message some of the details on this can be seen at
