A rooftop bar won't do much to activate the plaza, the stated purpose of this proposal.

But I do think this building should be as publicly accessible as possible, so sure, open the rooftop.
to compensate the business that got done over by the government handing over public land to a private developer

2KW has not been "done over". There is no alternative rooftop bar being proposed that would hinder his business. The views are still there. They do not have exclusive rights to unobstructed views.

Agreed. Let's leave the rooftop bar to the new Freemasons building.

Are the covered rectangular 'boxes' on the plaza level the columns for the next building?

The supports they just happened to surprisingly build strong enough for the tower they absolutely weren't planning from the start.

The supports closest Tower 1 will be redundant now as Tower 2 is supposedly confined east of the parliament balcony to 'preserve views'.

Yes, those boxes are probably hiding the starter reinforcing bars or bar couplers for the columns intended for those locations. There might be some additional strengthening works required to the existing basement car park below this area before the tower commences.

For this development I think it's safe to say you won't be able to miss seeing that info as soon as it is available, this is a high profile development.

I wonder if they'll allow a corporation logo to be plastered on the front of the building like "Deloitte's" new sign on Festival Tower 1

Or just leave it as it is like in the renders released in april. I think it looks better without a logo tbh.

Look deep into your heart on if you think this state government is going to put a single condition on the development that would limit the amount of money the developers can make from it.
