I agree that they're not bright enough. This project has been a massive
stuff up.

They definitely could be more bright. Hopefully this can be adjusted.

I went throught tonight and for after hours (11pm) the lighting was perfect for that time.
I'd imagine the lighting will be brighter when the mall is open though.

How do the spires look at night?
Are the top bits lit up?

I went for a waddle down the Mall last night at around 10pm. The light levels are just right. Enough to cast a faint shadow of yourself on the ground, but not too much to make it glarey. The balance between the overhead lights and the shop lights is good. Very twilight.
I think it turned out well.

Walking down the mall during the day and I don't find these to be intrusive or take away from the open air feel the re-development has breathed into the space. After seeing all of the doom and gloom posts as the fixtures were being errect, I expected much worse.

The only thing during the day that was a tiny disappointment was that the light shades are a lot bigger and darker than expected and the cables + electrical cables are a lot thicker/blacker than expected. I was going by the artist's impression which showed a less noticeable, light grey colourMpol wrote:Walking down the mall during the day and I don't find these to be intrusive or take away from the open air feel the re-development has breathed into the space. The paver patching is near completion, the only thing they need to address now is the poo smell at the Pulteney Street end from the sewer.

I think the problem is, people see the price tag but can't see what was done as from the ACC tell us, it was subsurface.
I think it looks good, although it is a shame about the massive poles at each end.

Well it's finally happened. Today they were testing the xmas music piped out of the speakers in the tree pits.

Nice gesture, but I feel they could have found a more relevant location than the produce markets / china town area... Better than him being kept in a warehouse though.Patrick_27 wrote:Not sure exactly where to post this so I'll place it here...

Tend to agree, though it should what's possible with the markets in terms of theming it for Christmas.Ben wrote:Nice gesture, but I feel they could have found a more relevant location than the produce markets / china town area... Personally I think the Renaissance building (Kmart) or Rundle Mall Plaza would have better suit something like this.
