I have a feeling the building will be around 25-30 stories. If you consider 400 rooms, working on the basis of 15 apartments per floor + lift cores + circulation space, that works out to be 27 stories + ground level.

It isn't a big site either. It could be even taller.

It's kind of a shame to see these trees come down but that's the price of progress. Hopefully this is a good sign they're going to get started soon.

Accommodation tower to start this year, i was under the impression it was a couple of years away. I would imagine it would be 12-15 levels.

A clearer version of the flythrough:

Also, a new skate park has opened recently on Oaklands Road near the wetlands, I didn't manage to get any photos of it unfortunately.

Yellow fencing has gone up on the North Terrace side of the site. Still no sign of 'site works in progress' / demolition or construction yet. What's the hold up?

Don't quote me on this, but I think they have demolished the toilet block recently.

I also saw a workman on site this morning from the train.

I walked past the site at lunch time and the toilet block has been demolished but no so sign of the skate park being attacked yet. The yellow fencing is 'Hansen Yuncken' yellow, the builders chosen for this project.

The HY website has this 'The project also involves additional space for allied commercial tenants, and a significant landscaped Urban Park that connects the HIB with the University of Adelaide’s proposed new Integrated Clinical School Building.'

Great Hall looks great!

However, I did prefer the original render for the Cancer Biology building.

Original - nicest (imo)/b]

Latest render - somewhat of a let down

Turning of the sod for the Great Hall was this morning. Demolition of Child Care to begin next week.

Expected to be open late 2017.

The transformation of the west end by UniSA has been fantastic. Can't wait to see some Snøhetta work here.

Now if they can do something about the yellow lego block buildings and the car park...
