I stumbled upon this interesting article from LA about car parking — how much car parking actually costs (as opposed to how much you pay), the history of parking, and even why people get so emotional about it. Given the discussions we often have here about the glut of parking in Adelaide, and in light of recent suggestions from the RAA of all places of reducing street parking, I feel it's quite relevant.
