Google Maps shows over sixty netball courts between Goodwood Road (Adelaide parklands) and Railway Terrace. Is playing netty really that popular?

It's huge, at least it appears most courts are actively used each weekend during netball season. April to September I believe.

Were you thinking of an alternate use for that section of parklands?

Yes, yes it is.

Same with the netball courts in Golden Grove, they're used a lot.

Every single court is filled on a friday night. Drive past for a look next time.

I've now discovered that this is not so - those netball courts in Edwards Park (between Anzac Highway and the cemetery) have been disused for the last twenty years. So netball is very popular, but not that popular!

I can't remember what I was thinking when I first made this thread, but an alternate (temporary) use would be a tunnelling worksite. However I vaguely recall reading of something under there (water tanks maybe?). Is that the case?

Also, I notice a decontamination station has been set up there. Can anyone tell me why? (Covid? Phytophora? Chemical spills?)

For water tanks you may be thinking of this old tank (heritage listed?):

Netball clearly moved from the west to the east side of Anzac Hwy with new courts.

The old courts I have seen used for storage or training by various organisations such as ambulances etc.
