I had a very clear view of this building from the Gilles Street Primary School car park when I was lining up to vote on Saturday.

A different perspective on this one:

I'm a bit confused by this one as from some angles (above included) it looks quite interesting. However, from others it still looks like a turd:

At some angles, it looks taller than 119m

Well, clearly there isn’t likely to be as much of a demand for student accommodation as pre-COVID. Just stumbled on this article by RealEstate.com, it seems the owners of this have opted to rent these out as ‘shared living’ during the rental crisis. Hats off to them, I think this kind of innovative flexibility is important, especially when there’s no current big demand in the market for student accommodation but a dire need for affordable rental living on the other side of the coin. I just wish the apartment options were better designed for this rather than the student accommodation shoeboxes that they are.

I say bulldoze it and start again.

Almost anything would be better than this trite.

It's really not a bad development. I know heaps of people who live in these sorts of apartments.

I think it's telling that the RE agent hasn't included any pictures or layouts of the actual accommodation!

Oh I’m not talking about the internal fit out, which I hear isn’t bad. I’m talking about the exterior.

I haven't walked past this at street level yet..... but like I said earlier, I think this looks pretty good! Purely from a skyline-nerd perspective 8)

It looks much taller from street level than it does from far away at its actual height.

Unfortunately, they didn't include pigeon spikes in their restoration of the heritage façade so it's already looking a bit shabby.

Also worth noting that the North Terrace pavement was recently repaired/'made good' out front of Yugo, the other student tower, so hopefully it's in the works here too.
