I hope us plebs can have a crack at the full length GT circuit from time to time, although all of the configurations described will be better than what we currently have at Mallala.

We have to keep that, it's the only V8 track where the pit lane is a bottle-o.

At least you make me laugh every now and then with the dumb shit you come out with.

It's what this forum needs more of. Don Dunstan style vision, Wayans brothers execution.

Also, check my new sig. :D

At 7.2km in length, the Tailem Bend track would be the longest on the Supercar calendar, 1km longer than Mt Panorama

Apparently there are some works being done to improve the Dukes Highway/Mallee Highway intersection. Does anyone have any details of that one?

How long until we start hearing calls to duplicate the Swanport Bridge? There have been a few prangs on it in the last few years, and it's the only bit of single carriageway and one-lane-each-way between the new race track and Glen Osmond.

A new $20 million permanent pit building and hotel complex will be built at The Bend Motorsport Park, creating an economic boost for tourism and 160 jobs during construction.
The new 4-level, 300 metre long pit building is the centrepiece for The Bend Motorsport Park, featuring 4 star hotel accommodation with more than 70% of the rooms overlooking the racing circuit.

Interesting that the only track in the world longer than this one will be is the old Nürburgring Nordschleife which is 13km longer

I know I shouldn't be surprised given the OTR branding, but what the hell is that logo? :sly:

I like the OTR branding tbh. That logo however is hideous, surely they can't be using that?

Really? I guess the Isle of Mann TT route isn't classed as a track.

Nope it's a public road course. Not a purpose built track. Also motorcycles ;P

Soooo..... Monaco, Adelaide, Melbourne Grand Prix tracks aren't race tracks either ...?

I see where you're going with this Mono, perhaps "the second-longest purpose-built racetrack in the world ..." would have been better.

Just to make sure:
"World's Longest, Purpose Built, Motor Racing Track Built In Tailem Bend, South Australia."
