That render is officially wet dream level design. You can't have trees there during construction let alone while the thing is running. There's no proven technology behind this.

Also, these are suspended cabins, the Flinders proposal was for cars running on top of tracks.
Exit on the right in the direction of travel.

What will they dream up next? Suspended Maglev Obahn buses?

or.. Translohr

It's a bus that looks like a tram guided by a single rail: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Translohr

The proposal was from a private company, not the state government.

They've even cheapened up on the 'station'..

When your initial concept images are so bad you may as well not even bother putting them out.

Apparently that's quite a high structure, while also being so short that it passes beneath the banner that is barely a couple of stories up.

Every image i have seen so far for this is wildly different. With each one seeming to just be a cheap photoshop mashup by a uni student.

This seems more like a thought bubble than an actual product with a price tag you could buy.

“But we are still running on 100-year-old technology with steel wheels on steel tracks on the ground.’’
Ok, but so is elevated rail. NYC has since had elevated tracks 1868.

I think he meant just for Adelaide. If Flinders University can afford the maintenance over time, then it would be possible. Let them try it out and see what the results are.

I did some research on the SkyWay technology. The vehicles are support by string rails, an invention created by Anatoly Yunitskiy, who is also invented SkyWay. I will post a diagram of what does it looks like.

There are more calculation on this website, http://www.yunitskiy.com/author/2016/2016_29.pdf

and it also said that the company MBMpl pty ltd has carried out the SkyWay Technology assessment and has confirmed a manifold lower cost for the proposed technology compared to its conventional analogues.

Now I'm just waiting for Rod Hook/Government or whoever to confirmed if this railway technology satisfied the Australian regulation safety standard or something

Yeah it is. (That's not an argument. Yes it is!)
It has so many technical hurdles to get over, and even if they solve those there's still a load of bigger safety and operational problems.

The SkyWay at Flinders University will be a pilot project. The students/anyone can check out how the SkyWay is after it has been implemented. They are still finding a land to use as a test site.
