Maybe they are also demolishing the existing bridge as the corridor it uses might be a more cost-effective location to install the rail bridge for the eventual Aldinga rail line extension, instead of creating space for a new bridge in a different place along Pedlar Creek.

Victor Harbor Road is open the full length in both directions, 2 lanes each way.
Speed limit of 60 still applies, most likely for the standard wearing in of the new surface, as all major works appear to be complete, they may just be a few minor finishing jobs to do, but nothing critical to the project, aside from the completion of Quarry Road at the roundabout.

South Road is apparently meant to open all lanes this week, but having drove through tonight, I'm skeptical for a few parts. Some stretches are already 2 lanes, but the majority still has cones. There's a couple of sections that still need the top layer, and a decent amping still needs the centre dividers.

Oddly, Victor Harbor Road uses the tensioned wire median barrier, while South Road is majority metal barriers in the median (as you typically see on a road with a drop over the edge) with some sections of tensioned wire. I would have just thought they'd go the wire all the way through both projects.

I've done an updated video of the Victor Harbor Road Duplication works, this time showing the project pretty much completed.

I'm using a new program, Clipchamp, so let me know if you have any feedback :)

EDIT: And as a bonus, here is a before and after of what it's like to drive on the road:

The Aldinga under pass on South Rd is still not fully opened. Last Sunday, 17/3/2024, there only one north bound lane open and no south bound lanes open. As for the south bound road, just past the Aldinga, this could be rented out to car companies for suspension testing.

Actually, the vehicles with the best suspensions in South Australia would have to be the AdMet Scanias from 1973-1045. These can withstand even the most challenging of uneven surfaces, as though they were a maglev bus. You would not even know that you were on a public road after a few seconds.
