1328RepliesFrom the Advertiser: OVERPASSES COULD SLASH $133m FROM ROAD COSTS By CAMERON ENGLAND and KARA PHILLIPS 05jun06 EXCLUSIVE BUILDING overpasses rather than tunnels on South Rd could shave $133 million off the bill on the blowout-plagued projects, the state's peak resources body said yesterday. The South Australian Chamber of Mines and Energy said engineers in its membership believed the State Government had chosen the most expensive solution to traffic congestion on the city's major...Last reply by bits in Infrastructure/Transport Development 1 hour ago
851RepliesIf worse comes to worst, seeing as this project actually appears to have two 'towers', the taller southern building and the shorter northern setback, maybe it would be logical to proceed with one or the other, and hold off on the other section until market conditions improve or a substantial pre-commitment is issued to warrant its construction? Using this and the subdivision of office space like AoP would probably help this one move along in its current...Last reply by slenderman in CBD Development 4 hours ago

1271RepliesWell you'll always hear the guys over at railpage complaining about how Adelaide Station has been ruined. For the most part I agree, but in a way the old station did need a interior redesign. Even now it still does, the capacity of the station during peak hour is pathetic. Balconies on the building would make it even worse. At least the exterior of the building has remained largely untouched after the redevelopment of the area in the late 1980s. It isn't often in Adelaide that there are old...Last reply by Alyx in CBD Development 4 hours ago
#Proposed: 123 Flinders Street, 22lvl 78m Mixed-Use
Written by Howie Sunday, 31 July 2011 16:46
We've got an exclusive for you all this weekend.
Paul Pruszinski from Pruszinski Architects gave us the scoop on a pretty special development at 123 Flinders Street, to be submitted this Monday.
Details are 22 levels , approx 78m in height, mixed use comprising of retail then carparking, then office then some very unique apartments. The site is currently the little brick telstra exchange (to be demolished) and the adjoining open lot carpark.
Here are the renders... pretty radical for Adelaide I must say.
Video fly-through to come early in the week.

DA was lodged this month for a signficant revamp of the heritage Gawler Chambers building on 186-190 North Terrace.
The proposal includes a modern 13 level office building behind a renovated Gawler Chambers building. An AdelaideNow article reports that Adelaide Development Company, has owned the site since 1945 and have approached Philadephia-based studio LFA and Adelaide-based Matthew Architects for its design.
Here's a render omicron found on the LFA website.

This development seems to have evaded our radar - it is the Crown Marina development at North Haven. The Sam Sgherza Group who developed the Infinity Waters development at West Lakes, are now working on their latest venture Crown Marina.
The site is 50,000sqm of water and land at North Haven, and will consist of 103 marina berths, car parking and user amenities. Construction began in June 2010 with 76 berths complete. Stage two is expected to begin late 2011.
Here's the flyover.
