1283RepliesNice article on the sunday mail last weekend about the new adelaide airport. Looks stunning, from the renderings and i really like the glass design which gives an unprecendented look at the adelaide cbd with the adelaide hills as a backdrop and the great coastline. Can't wait for it to open!Last reply by Ho Really in Infrastructure/Transport Development 1 hour ago
181Repliesfunny how everything that was once taken away from the city is now slowly being brought back in. What used to be in the space where the large Globalize shop is now in the Regent ? That was one of the grand cinemas there. If you go up into globalize, look up the projectionist's booth is still there (look for around 5 pigeon holes in the wall up high. I'm trying to recall what space is still left up there that was cinema. Globalise is in the...Last reply by SRW in CBD Development 2 hours ago
6RepliesI often get asked why I hate the Dyson Airblade. Often times people won't ask and I will awkwardly raise it as a conversation piece out of the blue. Grandma - The weather is nice today. Me - I f**king hate the Dyson Airblade. Let's step back a bit. Yeh I'm a germaphobe when it comes to public toilets. People in general are disgusting, and fail to wash their hands properly, if at all. When I go to a public toilet I will not directly touch the taps or door handles. Having a touch tap or a...Last reply by rubberman in The Pub 3 hours ago
6RepliesIt's official. Our stalwart 2000 and 2100 'Jumbo' trains are to be decomissioned. DPTI are taking Expressions of Interest, to be submitted by 6 November. https://www.tenders.sa.gov.au/tenders/t ... er-details Personally I think a number should be sunk offshore to form an artificial reef/fish haven of sorts. NYC did similar with a heap of old Metro trains off the coast of Delaware.Last reply by Norman in Infrastructure/Transport Development 4 hours ago

Written by Howie Sunday, 31 July 2011 16:46
We've got an exclusive for you all this weekend.
Paul Pruszinski from Pruszinski Architects gave us the scoop on a pretty special development at 123 Flinders Street, to be submitted this Monday.
Details are 22 levels , approx 78m in height, mixed use comprising of retail then carparking, then office then some very unique apartments. The site is currently the little brick telstra exchange (to be demolished) and the adjoining open lot carpark.
Here are the renders... pretty radical for Adelaide I must say.
Video fly-through to come early in the week.

The proposal includes a modern 13 level office building behind a renovated Gawler Chambers building. An AdelaideNow article reports that Adelaide Development Company, has owned the site since 1945 and have approached Philadephia-based studio LFA and Adelaide-based Matthew Architects for its design.

This development seems to have evaded our radar - it is the Crown Marina development at North Haven. The Sam Sgherza Group who developed the Infinity Waters development at West Lakes, are now working on their latest venture Crown Marina.
The site is 50,000sqm of water and land at North Haven, and will consist of 103 marina berths, car parking and user amenities. Construction began in June 2010 with 76 berths complete. Stage two is expected to begin late 2011.
Here's the flyover.
