A lot of members like to post pictures. Whether they be quick phone camera snaps or full digital SLR camera shots, it can be a bit confusing how to go about displaying them on the forum. One gotcha that you need to deal with early is to resize the picture so that it displays on the forum properly. Often a photo from a camera or camera phone is a high resolution image many pixels wide and tall. This needs to be resized in both filesize and physical size. A large filesize picture will take a...

20pc fewer stepping on the train, tram or bus By MATT WILLIAMS 16aug05 THE number of South Australians using public transport has dropped by almost 20 per cent in the past two months. Transport Department figures obtained by The Advertiser show there were 3,607,000 "initial boardings" on the bus, train and tram network in July - down by 18.7 per cent from 4,280,000 in May. The May-to-July boardings fell at almost double the rate of the same period last year, when there was a 9.9 per...

This is from the Advertiser. Rail costing demand 11jan06 THE Opposition has urged the State Government to release all costing documents on its plan to electrify Adelaide's rail system. Transport spokesman Iain Evans said the Government needed "to level with the community and release those costings today". TransAdelaide is undertaking a feasibility study into electrifying and upgrading the suburban rail network. I didn't even know they were looking...

#Proposed: 123 Flinders Street, 22lvl 78m Mixed-Use

We've got an exclusive for you all this weekend.

Paul Pruszinski from Pruszinski Architects gave us the scoop on a pretty special development at 123 Flinders Street, to be submitted this Monday.

Details are 22 levels , approx 78m in height, mixed use comprising of retail then carparking, then office then some very unique apartments.   The site is currently the little brick telstra exchange (to be demolished) and the adjoining open lot carpark.

Here are the renders... pretty radical for Adelaide I must say.

PRO: 186-190 North Terrace | ~50m | 13 Lvl | Office

DA was lodged this month for a signficant revamp of the heritage Gawler Chambers building on 186-190 North Terrace.

The proposal includes a modern 13 level office building behind a renovated Gawler Chambers building.  An AdelaideNow article reports that Adelaide Development Company, has owned the site since 1945 and have approached Philadephia-based studio LFA and Adelaide-based Matthew Architects for its design.

Here's a render omicron found on the LFA website.

#UC: Crown Marina (North Haven)

This development seems to have evaded our radar - it is the Crown Marina development at North Haven.  The Sam Sgherza Group who developed the Infinity Waters development at West Lakes, are now working on their latest venture Crown Marina.

The site is 50,000sqm of water and land at North Haven, and will consist of 103 marina berths, car parking and user amenities.  Construction began in June 2010 with 76 berths complete.  Stage two is expected to begin late 2011.

Here's the flyover.
