2728RepliesI'll add stuff to this thread as I come across it. Not game to read this whole thing in a single sitting Population Target - Increase permanent population of city to 26,000 by 2010. Increase overnight population to 34,000 by 2010. Both targets are double of the 2001 population figure. End of June 2004: Permanent residents - 14,361 (+627 on 2003, +1,530 on 2001). Way behind target, however when you look at last year's increase compared to the prior years, the pace has improved...Last reply by Matt in CBD Development 3 hours ago
1711RepliesThese pics were from an earlier post I made on SSC. I heard there's a rumour that there's going to be another underpass to be announced soon and it's not the Gepps cross one (although that may still happen). Apparently it's also going to be along South Road. If this goes ahead it should make South Road a lot more traffic friendly in the long term but hell in the short term. South Road and Port Road...Last reply by phenom in Infrastructure/Transport Development 9 hours ago
896RepliesThese are going up in all the mainland capitals. Just looks like some big advertising screen. Might add some much needed flashiness to the west end of the mall - the Myer Centre killed that. http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b318/chrismicik/cx.jpgLast reply by Alyx in CBD Development 17 hours ago
249RepliesThe Clipsal site is now officially on sale. Visit http://www.clipsalsiteforsale.com for more details. This is likely to be the location of Adelaides first true TOD. Expect more of the industrial land adjacent to this site being converted to residential/mixed use in the near future (once they have sorted out some major contamination issues). Description Adelaide’s most important inner urban land parcel representing enormous opportunity for a major developer to undertake...Last reply by peachy in Metropolitan Development 1 day ago
30RepliesAn article I wrote recently might be of interest to economists and demographers and maybe anyone with a interest in Adelaide's future. Enjoy, Malcolm King From the land of third rate politicians, to diabolically dodgy recruitment practices; from a state government that spent $73 million building a one way freeway and then 14 years later, built the return lane at a cost of $400 million; from the understaffed age care facilities to some of the highest energy bills in the world;...Last reply by wll6568 in The Pub 1 day ago
#Proposed: 123 Flinders Street, 22lvl 78m Mixed-Use
Written by Howie Sunday, 31 July 2011 16:46
We've got an exclusive for you all this weekend.
Paul Pruszinski from Pruszinski Architects gave us the scoop on a pretty special development at 123 Flinders Street, to be submitted this Monday.
Details are 22 levels , approx 78m in height, mixed use comprising of retail then carparking, then office then some very unique apartments. The site is currently the little brick telstra exchange (to be demolished) and the adjoining open lot carpark.
Here are the renders... pretty radical for Adelaide I must say.
Video fly-through to come early in the week.

DA was lodged this month for a signficant revamp of the heritage Gawler Chambers building on 186-190 North Terrace.
The proposal includes a modern 13 level office building behind a renovated Gawler Chambers building. An AdelaideNow article reports that Adelaide Development Company, has owned the site since 1945 and have approached Philadephia-based studio LFA and Adelaide-based Matthew Architects for its design.
Here's a render omicron found on the LFA website.

This development seems to have evaded our radar - it is the Crown Marina development at North Haven. The Sam Sgherza Group who developed the Infinity Waters development at West Lakes, are now working on their latest venture Crown Marina.
The site is 50,000sqm of water and land at North Haven, and will consist of 103 marina berths, car parking and user amenities. Construction began in June 2010 with 76 berths complete. Stage two is expected to begin late 2011.
Here's the flyover.
