268RepliesI guess the videos didn't hold my interest long enough for me to see that then. I very much doubt any of them have considered a usage that would be of real interest to most people. So you're not even bothering to watch/read the proposals, and then complaining that certain things haven't been considered? That takes the cake.Last reply by thecityguy in CBD Development 13 hours ago
11RepliesThe SA 2014 state election resulted in labor (who wrote the DAC rules years earlier) being voted back into power. I don't recall it being raised as a concern during the election campaign? Nor do i recall Liberals proposing to dismantle DAC powers as an election promise. The DAC exists so government can get on with delivering benefit to the majority, avoid pandering to the few. Are we suggesting democracy doesn't work? Should government really need to carry every individual along for the full...Last reply by Wayno in Metropolitan Development 13 hours ago
#Proposed: 123 Flinders Street, 22lvl 78m Mixed-Use
Written by Howie Sunday, 31 July 2011 16:46
We've got an exclusive for you all this weekend.
Paul Pruszinski from Pruszinski Architects gave us the scoop on a pretty special development at 123 Flinders Street, to be submitted this Monday.
Details are 22 levels , approx 78m in height, mixed use comprising of retail then carparking, then office then some very unique apartments. The site is currently the little brick telstra exchange (to be demolished) and the adjoining open lot carpark.
Here are the renders... pretty radical for Adelaide I must say.
Video fly-through to come early in the week.

The proposal includes a modern 13 level office building behind a renovated Gawler Chambers building. An AdelaideNow article reports that Adelaide Development Company, has owned the site since 1945 and have approached Philadephia-based studio LFA and Adelaide-based Matthew Architects for its design.

This development seems to have evaded our radar - it is the Crown Marina development at North Haven. The Sam Sgherza Group who developed the Infinity Waters development at West Lakes, are now working on their latest venture Crown Marina.
The site is 50,000sqm of water and land at North Haven, and will consist of 103 marina berths, car parking and user amenities. Construction began in June 2010 with 76 berths complete. Stage two is expected to begin late 2011.
Here's the flyover.
