Proposals : Twin Towers and Latitude Glenelg

UrbanConstruct has caused a bit of a sensation with their latest website update.  Some very big projects have been earmarked for the city.

Firstly we have the Twin Towers, featuring two apartment towers of 17 stories, and a combined 400 apartments between them and 5000m sq of retail.  The projected is estimated to be worth $300 million.  Due to start 2006/2007.

Next up with have Latitude, what appears to be about 10 levels from the render, it will have 130 apartments and will be worth $100 million when complete.  Due to commence 2006.

Great work UrbanConstruct and respective architects.  Stamping your excellent work on the Adelaide landscape once again.

Forum users : Due to the server upgrade, the threads relating to these projects have gone missing (sorry bout that!).

MIGRATED TO NEW SERVER

Hi all,

We've just migrated to our new webserver.  You will have noticed that some of the threads/posts/news may be missing from the last 24 hours, caused by the refresh.  My apologies about this, but if you would kindly repost I would appreciated this.

Anyhow, all appears to be well, if you notice any wierd things happening.  Please let me know.

Cheers

Howie

#Olympus House - West Terrace puts on some fat

Chris has been quick off the mark in finding this beauty proposed for West Terrace, which really could do with a big of bulking in the form of a few nice high rises.

Here's an early render of the project known as Olympus House.

Also SA member, Will, reports that "Olympic House will replace the current structure that currently sits on the corner of Franklin Street and West Terrace. The proposal is a 7 level building that will rise to a height of 24.5m. The lower levels will include a hall, gym, and offices, and the top four floors will include accommodation for elderly Greek people. The proposed building is very attractive, and it looks a lot like the Tivoli Tower. Because the building exceeds the area's height limit of 21m, it is going to be declared a non-complying category 3 proposal that will go to public comment. However the council describes it as 'a stylish addition' and mentions that the building is a perfect addition to the council's grand master plan of West Terrace.".

More on this project in the forum thread.
