Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Why aren't the h class trams running as the shuttle tram all the time It would be great for the tourist in town to catch one of the old in town and not the new ones. the photos of that tram in town look great.

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
Can't wait. Trams are great, another step for Adelaide. Just an idea, Ive always thought a Tram line down Rundle street would be sweet, turn Rundle street into a one way street for cars also? Good idea or bad idea? Bad idea sorry, the tramline would have to go straight through Rundle Mall. Which wo...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
I've done a fair bit of travelling on the Glenelg line at those times and I have seen how quick they fill up. I have seen it on one occasion get filled to crush load (ie seating and standing load at maximum capacity) by Goodwood at one point. The one issue that I can think of is the lack of spare t...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
This IS what the next fight is against and why people need to keep fighting the tram. Extending it out into the suburbs is a nightmare in Adelaide. The only viable place which was found to be not worth the bother is to go to O'Connell st! It's the only reason the tram was meant to be put down in th...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
How exactly is this tramline to no where going to increase public patronage to work? It's simply not, that's an argument from rail lovers. It really doesn't change how anyone gets into work, you are not going to suddenly stop driving and start catching the train in because you can now get out and w...

Re: Glenelg Tram Line Upgrade
As normal the whinging party lead by martin is already saying last night was a failure; But Opposition Leader Martin Hamilton Smith said it was not a minor glitch. "Last night the H-model tram couldn't negotiate the curbing on North Tce and King William St and it hit the concrete," he said...
