[COM] Re: #APP: Living Choice Fullarton (ex Julia Farr)
I did a bit of research a while back regarding this place, and posted on the "Defunct places of Adelaide" thread. http://www.sensational-adelaide.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2439&start=30#p70164 This building was known as the "West Block". Originally, it was part of the...

Re: General Public Transport thread
So now on the bus destination screen it shows West Lakes -> Paradise (via the CBD). Which I don't think is a bad thing... True... but they were able to do that in the past without confusing people with letters in the route numbering. Back in the old STA days, the 222 went between Pasadena and Gepps...

Re: General Public Transport thread
And not that this is important, but whats wrong with simple 3 digit bus route numbers. Has anyone noticed the recent changes I'm glad someone else thinks the same thing. What's with all the friggin letters nowadays? I remember the good ol' days of: T - Transit Link X - eXpress F - First set down/pi...

Quite how it explains the MATS plan though (or how it has anything to do with the MATS plan at all) is somewhat of a mystery.

Re: #U/C: Northern Expressway | 22km
It's the Hume Highway between Sydney and Melbourne, and the eastern terminus of the Sturt Highway. However (and I'm being extremely picky here I know), the Sturt Hwy meets the Hume Hwy in NSW where it's only NR31 (it's designated M31 in Victoria only), and it's not yet 'M' standard for it's entire l...

Re: #U/C: Northern Expressway | 22km
Guys, lighten up! I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and suggest he's refering to the fact the signs are changeable, and currently say "CLOSED" - something which is indeed apparent on the Southern Expressway. Also sounds like a bit of sarcasm thrown in. As to the "TO National M31&...

Re: #U/C: Northern Expressway | 22km
Went for a trip up there last night just to see it with my own eyes... apparently Heaslip road leads "to M31". Surely it's gotta be a mistake. I can understand M20 leading to M31 (albeit 950kms and two states later on), but Heaslip Rd? Epic fail. Must head out there again soon with a camer...

Re: #U/C: Northern Expressway | 22km
NO WAY! Are you serious? The M31 is the Hume Highway between Sydney and Melbourne, eastern terminus of the Sturt Highway. Why would they put a "TO M31" sign when it's 1000kms further ahead and across another two states?

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of TransAdelaide Networ
The sheer novelty of the electric trains will act as a sure initial effect on patronage Initially perhaps, yes. But the services need to be more frequent for it to be an attractive transport option. I dare say frequency of services is one of the two main reasons the O-Bahn is so popular (the other ...

In that case, I wouldn't expect to see much of an increase in patronage once the works on the entire network are complete.fabricator wrote:... but I doubt it will result in every 15 minute services.

Well spotted - didn't see that one. I guess there's some logic to it then.Aidan wrote:I've finally worked it out: 'Tis a concurrence of the A20 and A32.peas_and_corn wrote:what is the logic behind the numbering? You guys seem to imply that there is one

Re: #U/C: Northern Expressway | 22km
Been out today to have a look, progress is impressive. But was scratching my head over the A52 thing. No, because any traffic moving between Adelaide and Tarlee/Burra/Broken Hill should be using the M20 - why would you encourage that traffic to use the 'old' route, which is what would be implied if ...

Re: #U/C: Northern Expressway | 22km
A52? Wouldn't it make more sense to rename it A32 (i.e. Main North Road between Barrier Highway and Sturt Highway)?
IMO looks like a number has just been pulled out of the air (or something else).
I'm gonna go up to Gawler for a look!
