Re: #UC: Noarlunga - Seaford rail extension
The next person to suggest converting the O-Bahn to rail is going to be sent to Guantanamo Bay, where their only comfort will be the knowledge that the continuous thoughtless suggestions to convert the O-Bahn to light rail is only slightly less irritating than the water torture they will be endurin...

Re: #Transport Projects
Why doesn't that surprise me? You'd hope that by now they would have learnt from mistakes made in the early 80s.

Re: Electrification and Resleepering of TransAdelaide Networ
Wow, bit of a contrast there. The station itself looks like something from a high security prison, and below looks like something from Chinatown.

Re: #U/C: Northern Expressway | 22km
By the looks of things, that northbound ramp on to the expressway from Pt Wakefield road might be just temporary. According to the preferred route brochure for the Northern Connector (which admittedly is still in planning, so may change), there will be no northbound access to the Northern Expressway...

Re: #U/C: Northern Expressway | 22km
Went over Angle Vale Rd overpass on the long weekend, all the lines are marked on the expressway at that point, looked all ready for driving on (with the exception of the "Danger - No Entry - Contruction Site" signs at the roundabouts). It certainly looks well ahead of schedule!

Re: 7st Apartment complex for Mt Gambier
I don't suppose anyone has seen or heard any progress on this one?
I'm probably not going to be able to get to Mt Gambier again until the end of this year, but hoping to still get a chance to go for a wander through the existing structure (photo and video opportunity )

Nah wasn't me, but done it before a number of times. Got tooted by a train emerging from the Sleeps Hill tunnel once.

Re: #PRO: City Busway - O-Bahn to West Tce
The city end of O-Bhan really was a cheap and nasty solution. I was pondering how they'd get this to work the other day, and I have to say, I agree with this. There are things that appear weren't quite thought out as well as they could have been, mainly the entry and exit lanes on Mann Rd. Buses ne...

Re: #U/C: Port Adelaide Tram Line
Government should instantly increase the frequency of all services to 10min ... Agree wholeheatedly. You don't even get that frequency in peak on our rail system, which is really poor. I hope they improve the frequencies once all lines are electrified, although that would create more havoc at a num...

Re: #U/C: Port Adelaide Tram Line
It was on DTEI at one point (has since been removed though) that the completion of the extension to West Lakes and Semaphore, as well as the resleepering and electrification of the rail system, and the new ticketing system, were to all be completed by 2018, coinciding with one of the SASP targets - ...

[COM] Re: #PRO: Southern Expressway duplication | $445m | 22km
Agree with almost everything you put there, Aidan, but out of curiosity, why do you reckon Normanville would be a better destination for heavy rail that Victor?
As an aside, I can't understand why some think Aidan's posts are hard to read - they're not, just more in-depth.

Nope, the land is unoccupied. Perhaps this illustrates the idea better: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=117232900666255739238.000480eed625bb3287546 (Lower N.E. Rd realigned to follow the blue line, and the existing road that curves around to the east and up to the Grand Jnc/...

Re: #Transport Projects
A friend of mine who used to live just off Hancock Rd mentioned to me a while back that Tea Tree Gully council had plans (going back some years now) to realign and straighten the whole stretch of Lwr N.E. Rd from just north of Barracks Rd through to Perseverence Road, but this fell through (council ...
