[COM] Re: PRO: Victoria Square Upgrade

Spend some time at the South Rd / Cross Rd overpass and try to imagine that transported into Vic Square. Note how long the ramps on either end need to be and consider what that would be like on Grote or Wakefield street. Stand under the bridge section and listen to how much noise comes down from th...

[COM] Re: PRO: Victoria Square Upgrade

Having a look at the new proposal I gotta say that I really like it. The only thing that that REALLY bugs me is Grote/Wakefield St. Goes without saying that an underpass is a huge no no. I was wondering though; would an elegant bridge/tunnel design work? It could have grass/vegetation on top and hav...

Re: Refresh Adelaide

I think it's great that results are unpredictable. Both examples are great and show that EVERYONE has an idea. The best ideas should simple bubble to the top. If it's done right. "Mister Splashy Pants". That is the best thing i've read all day. Awesome. Are you in marketing and how long ag...

Refresh Adelaide

Hey there, I was just wondering if anybody here has seen the Pepsi refresh eveything ( http://www.refresheverything.com ) project that they did instead of doing a superbowl advert this year? And also co-create-london: http://www.cocreatelondon.com/ Both examples of 'crowd-sourcing' ideas (very simil...

Re: What exactly do we need a riverside for anyway?

I know exactly what you mean. Maybe it's as simple as saying what is near each stop; like Rundle Mall.. 'for shopping and entertainment precients'? Perhaps there needs to be better signage on the stops? Advertising on trams? Icons on timetables/maps? All of the above?

Re: What exactly do we need a riverside for anyway?

I agree 100%. Working in the West End, and with a few good friends in the East End with businesses I know for a fact that something would have to give with a riverside entertainment area at this current point in time. And I'd bet on the riverside. It's too far away from residents, it's not a natural...

Re: Tram Extention - Nth Adelaide/Tourist/Sights Loop

Plus your going to get in trouble for digging up the edge of the Botanical Gardens.
I was thinking you could run it where the RAH is when it gets Demo'ed. Put it in a grass covered tunnel? Take it underground? :D

I've got an idea for a bit of the RAH site, maybe Ill put it in another thread.

Re: Tram Extention - Nth Adelaide/Tourist/Sights Loop

Forgive me for thinking this is the Vision thread :P There are lots of ideas for the tram that make sense.. this is supposed to be a 'what if'. E.g. If the RAH gets demolished, what could be built there to justify a tram stop in the middle? How could the tram pass through the botanic gardens in an i...

Tram Extention - Nth Adelaide/Tourist/Sights Loop

Hi all, I'd love a North Adelaide tram but personally think it would be stupid to just run it down King William St. So here's my vision for a 'Tourist Loop'! http://i42.tinypic.com/j7gbc6.jpg Starting from City West stop down Montefiore Rd. Stop 1 - Torrens Lake. over Torrens River Stop 2 - Adelaide...

Re: #VISION Liberal's railyard plan: new stadium & entertainment

As much as I love the squeeky clean smell of this, I can't help but look and laugh... I know it's a 'vision' but it's a bit of disneyland too! I'd love a riverbank prescient but I just don't think it would work being this far down the west side of the city. Sadly not enough people live down there......

Re: Little ideas for a big city

Out of all the laneways in the CBD, Gilbert Place is definately one of the ones with the most potential.
Which other laneways do you think have potential?

Re: Little ideas for a big city

I love this thread... here's a simple, much needed (imo) idea for Hindley Street: Gilbert Place is a little lane that runs right up from Hindley St around to King William Street, map is here: http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&client=firefox-a&hs=TVH&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&...
