[APP] Re: Former LeCornu Redevelopment | Mixed Use

Poor council, now they can deal with the short sighted self interest nimbys they helped create by giving them the time of day nearly every time a development has been proposed.

[U/C] Re: Memorial Drive upgrade

We don't need this "now". It is not "this or nothing". There's a proposal for $250 million to be spent to redevelop Memorial Drive, a proper redevelopment not the half arsed bandaid fixes the current government is doing to the site. That would leave $450 million (since SA apparently has $700 million...

An aerial or even a top down view would be interesting of this site.

Re: Main South Road & Victor Harbor Road Upgrade

Since when has environmental impact statements ever got in the way of a politician or transport department proceeding with projects anyway? Case in example, North East Link in Melbourne. The EIS is absolutely scathing of the project. A 16 lane freeway is still getting built anyway. Isnt that the re...

What a disgraceful outcome it would be.

I doubt it will happen, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it did happen.

[U/C] Re: 203 North Terrace | 119m | 35 levels | Student Accom

Yep I agree this one is a shocker and does not belong on North Terrace and especially not above a beautiful heritage building (or facade I guess now). I still don't understand why its so tall, skinny and boxy? Why couldn't it have perhaps been shorter and introduced some curves? We have so many box...

People are actually comparing a building in Perth that at least looks like it was designed in the last 20 years to a building here that looks like it was designed 50 years ago and they've tried to modernize it with fins on the sides?

Re: (VIS) Hungry Jack's Carpark

As much as it was a travesty the Grand Central Hotel was knocked down, it is now well and truly in the past and it's time to move on. Other than being an architectural delight, what other significance did the GCH building have?. Building a replica will just end up looking tacky. Just like the Centr...

[COM] Re: M2 Northern Connector | 15.5km | $867m

I remember seeing the LED line markings at the SEXY/Panaltinga Rd junction at Old Reynella. Worked really well. This would be a great solution for the M2. Unfortunately unlikely to happen as SA is… well… SA. How long where the M2 lights on the Superway on for??? Minutes? What M2 lights? When the So...
