[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway
Also, one of Adelaide's critical gravity sewer mains runs down Regency Rd, with minimal grade (pretty much flat) and therefore minimal scope to realign. Not the only reason of course, but a contributor.

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments
I noticed a couple of developments in construction on King William St Kent Town this morning. One on northern side (hills end) is almost complete (3-4 storey building) and one on southern side just starting (city end). Also, the townhouses in Rundle / Little Grenfell coming along nicely. Kent Town r...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains
Re the need to upgrade rail network...about the same number of people use Adelaide's current rail network per day as those driving on South Rd, but I am fairly sure more has been spent on upgrading South Rd over past decade (and prob will be into the future). Not that I want to start a debate on rai...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Overkill to ensure the contractor's works are functional before accepting them? Sounds like basic contract management. As English Electric mentioned earlier, they need to get things right before accepting the works and opening to the public. Imagine the backlash had the department accepted the works...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Coming from someone who lives close to the proposed terminus of the Norwood tramline - please please please bring it on! My wife and I attended a planning meeting a year or two ago that related to the potential for a Norwood tram, and we were the youngest there by far (we're in our mid 30s). Average...

Re: Rename a suburb
I completely agree with smaller suburbs promoting identity and local community, and have been thinking where it could have the biggest impact. What do people think about splitting the suburb of Adelaide into multiple suburbs? At the moment it is a vast suburb of many different pockets with different...

[U/C] Re: 236-238 The Parade Norwood, Bath Hotel | 6 Levels
This one progressing nicely. Onto second level works this week. Site huts also onsite at nearby Nuova apartment site (near water tower) and some geotechnical testing at peregrines hq last week. This area is going to be very busy with construction works in the near future! Can’t wait to see that end ...

Looks like new bike lanes are being installed on Frome St between Pirie and Grenfell. Outside Ideas are the contractor.

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
interesting discussions here. to assist in the discussions, here are a few facts based on experience working on light (and heavy) rail construction (as opposed to reading websites) that will impact cost of projects. - cost of light rail (and heavy rail) per km does not necessarily decrease with incr...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
grand unions are extremely expensive, and due to tight light rail track standards, geometrically difficult to construct (intersection needs to be dead flat). there are only a few left operating around the world (incl one in melbourne which is worth seeing), and unless the network absolutely needs it...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
Time to focus our thoughts on other things. The poles were old, in very poor condition and had not been designed to carry the loads required by modern light rail overheads. Coming from someone who has the facts. It would've been like knocking down a house from 1895 and building a new two storey hous...

[COM] Re: Northern Connector | 14km | $1b
The latest design of the new Bolivar interchange has northern on and off ramps, as well as southern on and off ramps. ie all movements to and from the NC will be available at that interchange. Can only presume that it hasn't been released to public as not all approvals / agreements are in place?
