Just wondering. Is "all right" OK? Is mediocrity the best we can aspire to? meh, I say get over it My Honey, its not that bad and it brings much needed density to the area. Architecture is subjective. This is not bad, and the top section looks alright, its just the bottom and mid levels t...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
IMO leave the Outer Harbor line as existing heavy rail and electrify it. As for the tram, it needs to turn immediately north into the Bowden development then turn a little west and terminate at Ethelbert Square (anyone know where that is) to take advantage of the med-high density housing development...

Re: News & Discussion: Low/Mid-Rise CBD Development
This is actually the best of the notoriously cheap n nasty Forme projex architecture so I am relatively happy. Perfect spot. After my confusion, Ive worked out that this project is Hurtle & Co Stage 2 (East). The first Hurtle & Co (stage 1 - West - which apparently sold out) is on the north ...

looking forward to this. And it looks like their timing is perfect that once Vue is finished with the crane on KW St, then it will be ready to be carted over to Whitmore Square for this one

I see the Beaurepaires site on the Cnr of Gouger/Morphett has sold. Sign says 53m height limit. Here's hoping for another resi & shop front development. good to hear. Ive always hated seeing what looks like a petrol station on the corner or a busy inner city restaurant strip. Little things like...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Parklands
You have to laugh at the comment made by the Parklands Preservation Association.. The parklands surround the CBD! If you want tranquil areas, go somewhere in the hills. The parklands should be a space that can be used and enjoyed by the community, not something that sits vacant for much of the year...

Re: News & Discussion: Trams
the state government loves reports and plans and glossy brochures, to the point, once there are so many options on the table, no one will make a decision, and it goes on the never never basket. I had the please of staying recently in the st Kilda area of Melbourne, and their conversion of the once ...

Re: If you could demolish any buildings in Adelaide...
I would like to see the citi centre arcade block demolished and office tower. This can be totally transformed into an international fashion hub similar to Melbourne Central. It would have Zara, Topshop, Uniqlo, H & M, Williams Sanoma all the brands that are interstate that can not find a space ...

Re: SA Economy
Yep I agree. With all the job losses that have been announced of the past 2 years, I find it really hard to believe that the unemployment rate is only 7.7%. The only positive thing I can find is, S.A's population growth is still holding up at normal levels (0.9%), so there must be enough new jobs b...

the large parcel of land, next to Islington train station, south of Regency Road, was advertised as for sale in todays Advertiser, for residential zoning purposes, so I wonder if its finally been given the all clear from contamination and ready for med density housing

well I'm gonna go against the flow and say I really like this. I love the plain British city style modern box design of the 2 towers and I think they fit in perfectly with our streetscape and skyline

Further to above, Adelaide city centre apartment sales over last 12 months have totalled 496, making us the 13th most popular postcode in the nation for apartment sales. Brisbane CBD is 5th with 604, the only WA postcode on the list is East Perth, with 340, coming in at 39th. So despite our overall ...
