Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic

Because my origin is the top of Magill Rd and destination is Queen St Norwood near the western side of the Magill Rd and Portrush Rd intersection. If it’s really backed up I’ll drive down Beulah Rd, but overall it doesn’t save much time because I have to get back to the Queen St / Magill Rd interse...

[U/C] Re: Glen Osmond and Fullarton Road intersection upgrade

Construction cost could be minimised by completely closing the intersection for a few weeks/months of round-the-clock work. Did you work for DPTI's rail division?? LOL. No, but I used to commute along Portrush Road back when it was only one lane each way between Kensington and Magill Roads. My solu...

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic

Have you ever driven on this section of road at peak hour? I do it every weekday. If it's so bad, why do you always take that route? Because my origin is the top of Magill Rd and destination is Queen St Norwood near the western side of the Magill Rd and Portrush Rd intersection. If it’s really back...

Re: News & Discussion: Roads & Traffic

Why is this even needed? This is just overkill. That money could have been so much better spent on more useful and worthy 'congestion busting' initiatives. Have you ever driven on this section of road at peak hour? I do it every weekday. If you have, you would understand why it’s required. Apparent...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

https://indaily.com.au/news/local/2020/02/24/city-laneway-facelift-hits-roadblock/ Are we the slowest laneway developers in the world, on top of the slowest carpark/plaza builders? I hate to say this but I think Bank Street and Leigh Street should be fully reopened to cars, we should be focusing th...

If the v-shaped panel design was more intricate/ interesting, it could still work quite well

Reasonable sized townhouse development at 245-259 Gilbert St: https://www.saplanningportal.sa.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0007/638539/020-A069-19.pdf Saw this. I personally think it’s underwhelming for the cbd. I know it’s predominantly residential area but surely we can do better than townhouses...

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

I don’t mind the Crows plan, however the leisure pool components must at least replace and improve upon what is there currently, no less. This is the most popular part of the Aquatic Centre.

Spaa, steam room and sauna must also be included.

If Campbelltown City Council can build and run their own indoor swimming centre (ARC), Adelaide City Council can too.

Re: News & Discussion: Squares and Parklands

I wonder if either political party took to the 2022 election a bold agenda of the greatest transformation of the Adelaide parklands since they were first established, would it be a vote winner? I don’t mean development over the parklands. I mean taking a handful of our most important city (but under...

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

On a tangent, I think a stadium at the golf course would be a great catalyst for better pedestrian facilities at Morphett Road and a footbridge across the river towards the hospital. Tbh, although I'm fairly tepid on the idea of a new stadium overall, this would be the worst option in my view. Bett...

And this is to say nothing of parklands violation. Government owned sports facilities are not an issue on the parklands. There is endless examples of existing structures that have been built. People are against generic business in particular private generic business being on parklands. There was a ...

If I'm not mistaken, stadiums must hold at least 40,000 as per FIFA World Cup requirements.

Edit: madelaide beat me to it.
Or we'll miss out.

Cheers
So make it expandable. Doesn’t mean we have to build a 40,000 seat stadium now.

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

People are thinking inside the box on this, just about Adelaide United and the A League. What about rugby? What of the International Rugby Sevens, if we were to get that back? How about as a smaller outdoor concert venue? How about if Adelaide United make a grand final or cup final, capacity is nee...
