[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)
How is $600m a lot to spend? If anything $200m was nowhere near enough even as a projected price tag. No one would be saying the same if this were a contemporary gallery, which would cost the same (if not more)… In a state such as South Australia with a fairly small budget, how is $600m not a lot t...

[U/C] Re: Central Market Arcade Redevelopment | 130m | 39 levels
Presume it’s just the office component? Considering almost all the apartments have been sold. CBRE is exclusively commercial real estate. Can say with confidence that they'd be waiting for a precommitment to the office component which is natural. What is it, 9 levels? wouldn't take much to find som...

[COM] Re: Festival Plaza Incl. 115m Tower | $800 million
My understanding is that the 2nd second building is at the design and planning stage with it being slated as 34-35 levels (similar floor plate). First 3 levels to essentially glass atrium type of design to allow for natural light requirements through to parliament house. If this goes ahead, I think...

[PRO] Re: Fmr Franklin Street Bus Station | Tapangka | Mixed-Use Precinct
So who becomes the landlord? Does the developer retain ownership of the building, or can this be purchased by another party? If so, what are the controls (if any) over onselling of the building and whether or not apartments can ever be converted to private ownership? Is this a regulated area, or is...

What is "the emerging build-to-rent apartment model"? How is that different to the 1950s flats at Elizabeth (and maybe elsewhere) or any number of townhouses, duplex and freestanding houses that have been built by the Housing Trust or its successors over the years? I found the entire arti...

Pleased to see this week an acknowledgement, led by the new Lord Mayor, that maintenance of the city and its parklands has been profoundly neglected in recent years. It seems moves are underway to finally pull us out of a shabby decline: https://indaily.com.au/opinion/2023/04/24/autumn-leaves-cant-...

The building (and the whole development) will really change the skyline of the area. It's three stories higher than the tallest part of FMC, but it seems much, much bigger. Aren't the blank walls part of the fire safety code or building codes or whatever? Given that one day there may well be developments on either side of this, perhaps as tall? Yes, buildings within a certain distance to each other become fire hazards to one another with spread of flame between openin...

And to think 20 years ago parramatta use to be seen as quite rough. What a transfornation. Perhaps we need a couple of large white collar employers and a tower of shoeboxes to house the workers at Elizabeth, instead of making them commute from their own blocks of land at Roseworthy or Riverlea. the...
