Re: CBD Development: General
Which ones? Sorry but there really isn't (compared to Melbourne). There are dozens of undeveloped laneways in Melbourne as well, the reason they are not activated is because they are not important pedestrian thorough-fairs like the rest of Melbourne's more famous laneways. The problem with Adelaide ...

Re: CBD Development: General
Did he really just imply that Adelaide has more laneways than Melbourne?! For starters Melbourne's laneways are not cutoff by carparks like most of those in Adelaide. They also form important pedestrian thoroughfares right through the entire Melbourne CBD which is what has truly activated them. The ...

For that amount of money surely the design would have to look half decent.
Anyway. one of the most important things which I think will enhance the look of the area is the relocation of these ugly, oversized gum trees. They seriously do no good in removing the 'country' town stigma from our city ...

Wow, someone's gone cuckoo. How on earth does anyone on this thread sound like they treat Apple as some kind of deity?! Is it because we support something that will give our retail scene a bit more diversity? I don't care if I don't buy a single thing from the store...it is good news for Adelaide ...

Re: New Retail in the CBD
From Scratch has been operating on and off on Leigh Street for about a year now.
Here is a photo of the exact same stand taken in September 2011.

Re: New Retail in the CBD
The building owner of the site on north terrace mentioned prada were to move in on the basis other labels move in around them to create a hub. This isnt going to happen overnight.

Re: CBD Development: General
So if the bus lanes run down the middle of the street, where will the stops go?
I would imagine it would be something like Collins Street in Melbourne. The tram stops are in the middle of the road, and people gather under sheltered areas to wait for the tram.

Re: #VIS: CBD Tram Loop
I have already suggested this over at SSC. A new 9KM line, Airport - Norwood. Why not run the tram line up Grote Street straight through to the airport? Grote St is wide enough to support such a line and it would link the bus depot to the airport. It could then be extended east to service Hindmarsh ...
