[U/C] Re: 250 homes to be demolished for 650 new ones

To be clear, I am not against high density zones. But these must be near high frequency train stations, preferably including local shops, childcare and maybe even a small pub or social facility.. none of which we are getting with these middle suburb proposals. It’s lazy and cheap, and we have learnt...

[U/C] Re: 250 homes to be demolished for 650 new ones

Claybro, if you're going to engage in ridiculous conspiracy theories, I suggest you take your comments elsewhere and peddle them on other web forums. But they are not welcome here. 15 minute cities are not a conspiracy theory. Just Google it. It is being spoken about and rolled out by town planners...

Re: News & Discussion: Laneway & Streetscape Projects

Well, at least it appears they are making somewhat of an effort. But those white planter cylinders? Come on guys....looks like something from some cheap renno show. This a premier location. Good to see some irrigation works, but lets hope the ACC learns how to use a corer in these high traffic areas.

[U/C] Re: 250 homes to be demolished for 650 new ones

Firstly, I would like to know what streets in Morphettville have been flagged for demolition. Are there any plans that are available for viewing? To date, I have not officially been notified of this, other than rumor. I have been in my home for 24 years and have proudly maintained it with renovatio...

[VIS] Re: Passenger Trains to Mount Barker

The real cost of road fright is nowhere near covered by the users, and it has been a false economy sifting everything to road freight. Costs in road deterioration, extra congestion, pollution including emissions and roadside residue , noise, road fatalaties..the list goes on. If they are really comm...

[U/C] Re: Burnside Village (Extension)

Interesting. Would be ace to see some big lux brands here. CBD should focus on securing a Zara, and some other cool yet affordable brands. Seems a shame this site has become such a behemoth. The site is restricted, surrounded by low density housing, bordered by a major truck route and very busy int...

[SWP] Re: Lot 14 (Old RAH Site)

The extent of the Aboriginal collection in SA is not really widely known or appreciated. Here is the perfect opportunity for SA to create something spectacular and world renowned, and not just a token kitsche venue of stale fixed displays. i really hope that the current government pushes on with thi...

Re: Mildura

Whilst not part if SA, Mildura is closer to Adelaide than Melbourne and if it were in SA, Mildura would be our largest regional centre by a long shot. Now with Rex cutting Adelaide to Mildura flights, there's literally no public transport direct from Adelaide to Mildura. Qantaslink pulled out of th...

Liv Golf Tournament

It seems as with the gather round, I have to start this thread from WA. Are you guys awake over there? Do you have any idea how many people are talking about Adelaide as a result of firstly Gather Round, and now Liv? The reporting from the event on the weekend was almost gushing, and never before ha...

Re: News & Discussion: Regional Transport

As a result of the discussion on the Gather round thread relating to regional matches, Out of curiosity I googled Adelaide to Mount Gambier, due to a comment on the proximity (ease of travel) from Melbourne to Mt Gambier. To say I was blown away is an understatement. Using Google Maps as a search, f...

Re: SA Economy

1.1% growth isn't that exciting. Does it even put us in the 'catch up' (to the other states) phase? Definitely not. But the overall growth figure was 1.4% for S.A which is important, meaning the population of regional areas is growing at a healthy rate. basically just people moving from Adelaide to...

Re: AFL Gather Round

Norwood Oval needs a serious upgrade if its gonna host again next year. The lighting is terrible and the pitch dimensions are completely out of whack. Not to mention the seating and terraces need improving. Cue the SA flagulation brigade. Everyone here is absolutely raving about the concept.. and m...
