Re: News & Discussion : New Restaurants, Bars & Night Clubs

Not sure if it's been mentioned here, but it looks as though Electra House (the bar) has closed its doors... The interior has no furniture and it's looking ab it worse for wear.

Worth revisiting the funding issue regarding this tower. The state government for some inexplicable reason, offered favourable loan arrangements to get this over the line. The project is not yet completed and we are in the midst of a global crisis that will have a lasting impact on international tr...

[VIS] Re: New inner-city stadium

What indoor sports are they going to use a full sized stadium for? The pitch is going to lift it self up to create a roof and enclosed arena? So there's then going to be moveable seating/stands to create say a tennis court or two? A basketball court/arena? How are they going to manage the schedulin...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Buses

It needs to happen. If Currie/Grenfell St changes to a bus only street, it would only need to be two lanes each way, so the footpaths could be widened. And plant trees on both widened footpaths, and plant a row of trees down the middle of the street to soak up bus noise and fumes. Really green it u...

Here's one thing Melbourne are doing at this time.

If only the ACC had a similar vision.

Only realised this today... There's a helipad on top of the carpark opposite Calvary Hospital, was this in the original plans? I know the office on the top floor was a last minute addition but I thought there was going to be car parking at the back of the top level behind the offices...

Re: News & Developments: Port Adelaide

It would be an absolute joke if WA somehow poached any of these contracts from us considering the long standing history of defence manufacturing here in SA. Just because WA's mining industry is on its way down the drain shouldn't mean the feds get behind shifting another state's primary industry els...

There is no reason why the ACC couldn't budget a further $500k/$1m to add raised garden beds which could include more seating, bring some of what has made North Terrace successful to the mall. Whilst the maturing trees are looking great, it does feel very cold below their canopy. I also think they n...

I'll eat some of my words on this, as mentioned the bits that are set into the stand look quite good (probably because they don't follow the renders too closely) however the causeway over the East Stand entrance looks horrible, I'd have rather if they were going to bulge out over the entrance that t...

Hurtle and Whitmore (and indeed Wellington) squares are not like Victoria/Hindmarsh/Light. I think it's reasonable to exclude ground floor retail from multi-storey living complexes in predominately residential areas, particularly when primary retail strips exist nearby (in this case, Pultney Street...

[COM] Re: Armada Arndale (Redevelopment) | $200m

That’s pretty disappointing hopefully another operator can take over. Who would take over the site. It's too close for Reading, too low brow and modern for Palace Nova, and I doubt Hoyts would be interested (though they're probably the best fit). Someone with the right mindset and money to invest i...
