Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development
Looks great, but I'm not sure about the blue. Bit garish. We'll see.

Re: SA Economy
I definitely agree with jk1237 regarding the O'Bahn needing the upgrade. It can no longer be considered rapid transit if its travelling the same route as cars and having to battle with them every time it arrives in the city. In time, the electrification of the Gawler line will spring up. But it's al...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Parklands
I'm going to chime in on the maintenance, because I do agree with everyone's points. Something in particular I noticed was the selection of Ginkgo trees they planted outside of SAHMRI. Half of them are dead or nearly dead no thanks to the scorching summer heat, it strikes me as odd that such newly e...

[COM] Re: Rundle Mall Redevelopment | $30m
“I would suggest 90 per cent of the reason why people don’t shop in the city is because they have to pay to park there,” he said. The Adelaide Central Market was tackling the issue, Mr Granger said, by introducing free car parking for the first hour, and the city council had recently kept its Gawle...

It's probably a bit too brown in my opinion and it seems everyone else thinks the same thing.

yet they all look dated and are basically just a few ugly trees and grass. Like Palm trees for example. Completely useless garden tree that looks untidy when it accumulates all the dead fronds hanging from the tree and costs money to maintain it. Waste of time planting them in Adelaide, particularl...

One day Australia will lift its game.
It will hopefully start by removing all palm trees. They do not belong on our land, and they look right well stupid when people plant them.
This isn't Naples or Cannes.

Someone please tell me why is it that every Christmas tree in an Australian city is always awfully tacky? Simplicity, people. It's always more.crawf wrote:

I can't seem to find it anywhere, but I recall a render in the early proposal stage of this development that the extensions to the West and East were going to match the main glass building. To be honest, the attached was the best proposal put forward - probably would have cost significantly more. T...

They should be more ruthless about it, then. Adelaide needs a development like this to pull it out of the sub-ordinary (at least as far as tourism goes).

At least we're still getting something sleek and glassy for the SkyCity Casino, unless they've changed that render as we'll.
