This is the type of buildings we should be getting in Adelaide, sleek and glassy. Less is more.

[COM] Re: PRO | 114 Waymouth Street | 128m | 34lvls | Mixed Use

This image comes from the Loucas Zahos website. It appears to show the location of this propsoed tower. It suggests that there may have been a design competition regarding this proposal, considering JPE appears to be the architects now. http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z37/daeh0004/Proposed/repub...

Excuse my ignorance, but what is going on the old Royal Adelaide Hospital site? For example, what are the old red brick buildings going to be used as? http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3406/3575160033_c621d610db_b.jpg http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3672/8934826192_fde9009592_b.jpg I understand this will...

Re: Fourth hottest day on record - 45.1 degrees!

I think its 4 days over 35, perhaps 36. Then it's "officially" a heatwave. Regardless, I love this weather. Hope it continues on till March. A nice tan for the summer, then I'm pissing off to Europe for more summer  Ugh, what's wrong with you? This kind of weather makes m...

Re: News & Discussion: General CBD Development

Plane trees are really beautiful in our city streets, but they really obscure some of our best building, particularly Parliament House. The council should plant Ginkgo trees over Planes, because they provide a lot of shade without creating a canyon effect in the street and covering up building facad...

Re: Fourth hottest day on record - 45.1 degrees!

Perhaps this will serve as incentive to diversify our power connections so we aren't so vulnerable. Perhaps this will serve as an incentive for people in this country to wake the f*ck up about global warming and the very evident threats it is posing to our country and our economy. Bushfires here, h...

Loving the new treatment to the front of the Myer Centre. The black looks sleek and classy. Now for the facade on the upper floors??? Classy is one of the last words I would use to describe the Myer Centre building. They should have left the original heritage Myer Emporium that was there previously...

To those who constantly claim Gum Trees fall down or shed branches at the same rate as any other tree, most of the trees brought down today by the wind were Gums. Explain that. The council should learn that they just aren't suitable for our cities.

Re: Dubai - An example to look up to

My point is that you can plonk a fancy building anywhere but taking the time to design a development which takes into consideration the culture, history and surroundings will result in a better long term outcome. You can plonk a fancy building anywhere. Look at NYC's streets. Most of them are lined...

Oh please, a bunch of super talls, some fancy resorts and artificial everything is not impressive. Dubai is an empty place, fast approaching rust bucket status.
