I doubt that the glazing to the north would be floor to ceiling clear. Too much heat and probably too much of the old biddies in residence. slenderman - re setbacks: the whole site is only about 21m x 20m. If you had meaningful setbacks, say 6m, you'd only have about 14m x 15m to build the tower, i...

Ugh, that's really disappointing. What's the point of "local heritage listing" if the buildings can be demolished anyway? Would it have been impossible to have at least gutted the buildings that will be demolished, leaving only the facade and then building the tower behind (like 379 KWS)? ...

Big thumbs up, and you know it deserves approval when all us S-A members give it unanimous positivity ;) Not quite. Dvious doesn't like it (from the current renders at least), and I'm for this, but would like to see a LOT more of the heritage component retained, and the design around the heritage m...

Are they going to demolish a bit of the heritage building (that part between the corner part and the Gawler Chambers)? The renders seem to indicate that, and I don't like it if that's the case. Actually, it looks like they're planning to demolish all of the building except for the small part on the ...

Ugh, take this crap to Bigfooty, reverend. There's a thread on that forum from the Port Power fans about how they would react if their kid was drafted to the Crows. Show support for what your child wants to do? God no. Re losing players, Port have lost players too, such as Ben Jacobs and Shaun Burg...

Gee, that's incredibly underwhelming. The green glass looks very nice, but as Shuz mentioned, there's far too much grey glass, and the grey is far too light as Patrick mentioned. It might be poor lighting though, although I still suspect the grey is too light. The building doesn't juxtapose the heri...

I actually have Danish ancestry, and have been to Denmark twice. One of the few countries in the world that makes Australia seem affordable. Anyone ever had a Yankie Bar? They're like Danish versions of Mars Bars, but better. Also in Denmark, some people eat a thing called Pålægschokolade (had to co...

Re: Television Broadcasting in Adelaide
My TV has stopped picking up channel 44. Has anyone else had the same problem? You mean 44 Adelaide? My TVs stopped picking them up ages ago (in fact, one of them deleted the channel after a scan). Not that I really care, as it never showed anything particularly good. But at least 44 Adelaide wasn'...

Thanks Will and Howie. I'm not sure of the extent of these renovations you speak of, but its a good example of 1960s architecture. Do either of you happen to know the year the Earl of Zetland closed? Was it in 1995 or a few years later? Cheers. I apologise for derailing the thread slightly.

The little jewel box can never be as ugly as the concrete block wall of the old tax building on the other side of Edmond Wright house. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/05/08/ytu4agag.jpg Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Yes, it's an ugly blank wall on a rather ugly 1970s building (not the worst 70s bui...

[COM] Re: U/C: 1 King William St | Facade Upgrade | $12m
Agreed. Why the hell did we have to mutilate the facade of one of the only GOOD Adelaide buildings to have come out of the 60s (besides the Reserve Bank building and the State Administration Centre), especially when we have no shortage of horrid 60s/70s eyesores that could use a new facade (especial...

Re: Google Maps Street View Car spotted in Adelaide
The time-reverse feature has been available in Google Maps for several years for overhead views. If you meant that they're going to include it for streetview now that will be a great new feature. Yep, that's exactly what it is. You can now switch between the street view images of 2007, 2009 and 201...

Bump
New street view images for Adelaide in Google Maps. Not sure how long they've been up, but developments such as 70 Franklin, Rowlands and Rundle Place are now on there. Pretty sure the pictures are from early 2013.
