[COM] Re: 52-66 King William Street | 65m | 15 Levels | Southern Cross Arcade
I thought people would be interested to read that we had our first fire drill a couple of weeks back. I was pretty disappointed with the evacuation time - it took a good 7 to 10 minutes to get from my desk to the street. The fire stairs didn't seem to be wide enough for the number of people present...

[PRO] Re: Masonic Lodge | 183m | 37 Levels | Mixed Use
The most mis-understood nickname for a city. Do you see churches everywhere? I don't, and nor do visitors (who might even come here to see them). The vision for South Australia, way back in the early 1800s, included that it would be a bastion against religious persecution, people of any religion (a...

I don't love it and it is very in your face. It will dull with time though. You don't have to love it. You only have to think it's no worse than a blank concrete wall with saltdamp stains on it. you wouldn't look at the wall if it weren't highlighted by this 'mural' That may be true - but is the cu...

Thanks for that. From my quick look at the fly over, I only really noticed the buildings on the immediate corner next to the gym. I will have to take some photos soon when passing through. No worries. It will be interesting to hear the ground truth results, and whether it will be as it appears. Hop...

[PRO] Re: Grange-Holbrooks-East Ave Dog Leg
The house next to the gym has been vacant for at least a year following a fire. Other than that and the shop on the corner next to it, what else is going to be demolished? I tried to compare the cleared land in the fly through with recent overhead Google Maps imagery. It seems to show: At least thr...

Re: Push For Public Transport To Be Free In Australia
the paying part there's no false equivalence, it happens Sure, it happens, but not all antisocial people are homeless, and not all homeless people are antisocial. They are not equivalent. One train fare per day is pretty cheap rent to have somewhere warm and dry in winter/cool and shady in summer f...

as I said before, you'll get homeless people riding around on it all day and night just like public libraries where they're allowed to sleep in all day and throw their food & trash all over the floor... no matter about hygiene...that's all gone out the window for 'social justice' You have a fal...

This looks like it includes demolishing about ten houses. Does the Government provide ten new houses nearby, or does this project contribute to the Housing Crisis?

Well ideally cycle ways would be properly segregated, well away from main roads (or at least with some kind of physical barrier between the bike lanes and traffic), and avoiding having to cross at intersections like this, so one can hope cycle improvements are part of some grander strategy. I won't...

Re: News & Discussion: Other Metropolitan Developments
I live in a street right on the edge of the suburbs, in an estate that this release was opened for sale about 14 years ago. This release was marketed as being dotted with mature trees. I think the developers had removed as much as they could before it went on sale. I'd say about half of the remaini...

It's almost like something is leaning on the scales to keep the retail price of electricity to consumers high and climbing, independent of what technology is used to generate it, and that no matter how often someone in government claims something will make it cheaper, the only solution that will ac...
