[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

Hopefully they use this new motorway for buses too. Buses from around Happy Valley could be express into the city. Do we know anything about public transport that will use the motorway? I'd imagine it's way too early to be planning bus route changes. Route GA1 now uses the Northern Connector though...

Also it looks like they will cut my beloved Keswick Creek in half. What will happen to it? Will they pump it under the motorway? Keswick Creek could be incorporated into the James Congdon Bridge. As part of the T2T the Port Road bridge had very large pipes under it. There are also apparently large ...

Re: News & Discussion: CBD Retail

Absolutely agree - have all car park access from Pulteney Street on a two way access road that would extend no further than the Wilson car park entry and make the remaining portions beween Wilson and Frome and West Terrace single lane and ideally shared-space as opposed to a dedicated vehicle lane....

Re: Did the forum change?

I wonder if there is a way of reducing the Ads. I find it frustrating too especially when they are in the middle of a single post. I'd be happy to donate towards a more user friendly interface. I find the full-screen ones that need an extra click the most annoying. Hence, I use an ad-blocker on my ...

Has it been announced whether the tunnels will go below the River Torrens, Keswick Creek and Brownhill Creek? They are all in the second stage north of Anzac Highway. From InDaily's Budget 2020 summary: https://indaily.com.au/news/2020/11/10/budget-2020-the-key-measures/ A 4.3km southern tunnel fro...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

When the Gawler railway line was closed, it was going to reopen in stages, but now is completely closed until it is all finished. That is not going to be popular, and Labor can legitimately argue the full closure was a Liberal decision - because Labor was only going to electrify the southern bit! Th...

[U/C] Re: M2 North-South Motorway

According to the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) service relocations for the remaining T2D section will start by the end of the year. The contract for those works will be of a similar cost to the whole of the recently opened R2P project. That's an impressive cost when you consider...

Is that preserving a façade, or just being careful that it falls inside the footprint not out into the laneway?

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

The real problem is neither the Liberal Party or the Labor Party have articulated a holistic plan for Adelaide Metro rail network and services, and therefore piecemeal thought bubbles, discussions and proposals keep popping up rather than working to an agreed masterplan, regardless of who is in Gov...

Re: News & Discussion: Adelaide Metro Trains

What is needed is more employment in the Mount Barker area, so that people who live there don't feel compelled to travel down to Adelaide every day! If the commuters are mostly students, then it obviously needs a university campus too!

[PRO] Re: Main North Road/Nottage Terrace Intersection Upgrade

Probably an overpass [or underpass] is the ideal solution at a cost of only a few hundred million. The question is whether one will still be needed when traffic is worse in say 10- 20 years time and they should look at it now? Crystal ball time - will traffic be worse in twenty years time, and why?...

Seeing as you're the expert, tell us more. He's not wrong from what I can see either. The only thing that's changing seems to be the addition of a bus lane heading out of the city. And the addition of a second right hand turn lane to Nottage Tce from Main North Rd. Other than that, won't be much di...

I don't mean to shut down your argument, just pointing the facts as I see them. I don't feel shut down. Thank you for your comments. My underlying point is that we should not be trying to encourage people to want to commute 40km from outer suburbs to the CBD. People who live in the outer suburbs sh...
